Select component for defining maintenance program details
This page allows you to select a component for which you wish to update the maintenance program details. Tell me more .
Select the “Edit Component Maintenance Program” link under the “Component Maintenance Program” business component.
The “Select Component #” page appears.
Enter the following in the “Direct Entry” group box, if you know the component number for which the maintenance program details must be defined:
Component # |
The number identifying the component for which the maintenance program details are to be defined (Alphanumeric, 90). |
Select the “Maintain CMP” link displayed alongside to define the maintenance program details for the component.
Enter the following in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for a component. Data entry in the following fields is optional:
Part # |
The number identifying the part to which the component belongs (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full, or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the components belonging to this part. |
Serial # |
The serial number of the component. You can enter the number in full, or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the components whose serial numbers are similar to the number entered here. |
Component # |
The number identifying the component for which the details are to be retrieved (Alphanumeric, 90). You can enter the number in full, or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system lists all the component numbers that are similar to the value entered here. |
CMP Defined (Y/N) |
Use the drop-down list box and set the field as “Yes” to retrieve the component for which the maintenance program is already defined. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
CMP Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the component maintenance program status, which could be “Fresh” or “Authorized”. The system retrieves the components whose maintenance program has the status selected here. The system sets this field to "Authorized" by default. |
Maintenance Process |
Use the drop-down list box to select the maintenance process, which could be “Hard-Time”, “On-Condition” or “Condition Monitoring”. The system retrieves all the components associated with the parts of the maintenance process selected here. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
User Status |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the user status of the maintenance program. The system retrieves all the components whose maintenance program has the user-defined status specified here. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
ATA # |
The ATA chapter to which the component belongs (Alphanumeric, 16). You can enter the ATA chapter number in full, or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the components whose ATA chapter numbers are similar to the number entered here. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search result.
Note: If the option setting “Planner Group Security” is set as “Required” in the Set Options activity, then the system retrieves only those parts associated to the Planner group to which the login user has been mapped.
The system displays the following in the “Component Details” multiline based on the filter criteria specified:

Part # |
The number identifying the part to which the component belongs. |
Serial # |
The serial number of the component. |
CMP Defined (Y/N) |
Indicates whether the maintenance program has already been defined for the part or not. The system displays either “Yes” or “No”. |
CMP Status |
The status of the component maintenance program, which could be “Fresh” or “Authorized”. |
Maintenance Process |
Indicates the maintenance process associated with the part, which could be “Hard-Time”, “On-Condition” or “Condition Monitoring”. |
Part Description |
The textual description of the part. |
User Status |
The user-defined status assigned to the component maintenance program. |
ATA # |
The ATA chapter to which the component belongs. |

Select component for defining maintenance program details – An overview
This page allows you to select a component for which you wish to update the maintenance program details. If you know the component number, you can enter it directly. Otherwise, you can carry out a search based on the part number, serial number, component number, maintenance process and ATA chapter to which the component belongs. If the maintenance program is already defined for the component you can also search by specifying the maintenance program status and the user defined status.
The system displays the details of the selected component, such as its number, part and serial number of the component, the ATA chapter to which the component belongs, maintenance process associated with the part, its status and the user-defined status.
