Release Visit Package – A summary of the activity

On confirmation or approval , the visit planner releases the visit package for execution.

Note: Approval of the visit package is mandatory only if the “Visit Package Approval” field is set to “Yes” in the “Set Options” activity.

On release of a visit package, work orders will be generated on the respective work centers, which are responsible for work execution. The process also places reservations on the stock (maintained in warehouse) for critical items. Material requisitions to facilitate pre-draw of required material from warehouse are also generated. The system assigns the “Released” status when the visit package is released. The work orders generated will be taken up for detailed execution planning, by the respective work center planners.

You can also selectively release the visit package details in this activity. You can select the work units in the visit package and release only those work units for execution. The system sets the visit package to “Partly Released” status.

Partly release the visit package

You can select a visit package and release selected work units belonging to the visit package. The system sets the visit package to “Partly Released” status.

• Use the “Release Visit Package” page to select the visit package to be partly released.

• Use the “Selective Release of Visit Package” page to release selected work units of the visit package.
