Entering resource requirement for a work unit
This option allows you to add or modify the details of resources required for executing the work units of type “Task”. Tell me more
Select the “Edit Resource Requirements” link at the bottom of the “Create Visit Package” page.
Or
Select the “Edit Resource Requirement” link at the bottom of the “Edit Work Content” page.
The “Edit Resource Requirements” page appears.
The system displays the following field in the “Visit Package Details” group box:
Visit Package # |
The visit package for which the resource requirements must be entered. |
Revision # |
The latest revision number of the visit package. The system leaves the field blank, if the revision number does not exist for the visit package. |
Aircraft Reg # |
The aircraft registration number for which the visit package is applicable. |
Aircraft Model # |
The model to which the aircraft belongs. |
Enter the following field:
Work Unit # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the work unit for which the material requirement must be specified. The system lists all the work units of type “Task” that are defined for the visit package. |
The system displays the following field on clicking the “Get Details” pushbutton:

Enter the following field:
Resource Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the resource for which the details are to be added or modified. The available options are “Skills”, “Tools”, “Equipment” and “Others”. |
Click the “Get details” pushbutton, to retrieve the resource details that have already been defined for the work unit and resource type combination.
Note: Ensure that the work centers to which work units are allocated in the visit package have a warehouse associated to them for all the part types required.
Enter the following fields in the “Resource Details” multiline:
Resource # |
The resource required for completing the task (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. The resource of type “Skills” must have been defined in the “Maintain Skills” activity of the “HR Setup” business component. Resource of type “Tools”, “Others” and “Equipment” must have been defined in the “Create Facilities” activity of the “Work Center” business component. The status of the resource must be “Active”. For each resource type, the resource number must be unique within the multiline. Help facility available. |
Time Unit |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the unit of measurement for the resource time, which could be “Minutes”, “Hours” or “Days”. If the project time unit is set, the system displays the corresponding time unit. |
Est. Time |
The number of hours, minutes or days for which the resource is required to complete the work unit (Decimal). Mandatory. The number entered in this field must be positive. |
Est. Nos. |
The number of resources required for completing the task (Integer). Mandatory. Ensure that the value entered in this field is positive. |
Approval Reqd. ? |
Use the drop-down list box to indicate whether the resource has the necessary certifications to sign off for the selected work unit or not. The available options are Yes” and “No”, and the system displays “No” by default. |
The system fills in the following field, on clicking the “Edit Requirements” pushbutton:

Enter the following:
Sign off ? |
Use the drop-down list box to indicate whether the user has to sign after the task has been carried out by the resource. The system provides the options “Yes” and “No”, and leaves the field blank by default. This field is applicable only for “skill” type resources. |
Note: Ensure that atleast one resource is entered in the multiline.

Click the “Edit Requirements” pushbutton, to update the resource details.
The system performs the following on updating the resource requirement:
Updates the resource requirement details for a visit package in the “Fresh” status.
For a visit package in the “Confirmed” status, the system updates the resource requirement and sets the visit package to “Fresh” status. The system also sets the “Approval Status” to “Pending Approval”, if the visit package approval status is “Approved” or “Returned”.
For a visit package in the “Released” or “Partly Released” status, the system updates the resource requirement, sets the visit package to “Fresh” status and the revision number is incremented by 1. The previous version is also retained with the respective revision number and the status set as “Revised”. If the “Approval Required” option is set as “Yes” in the “Set Options” activity, the system sets the approval status of the visit package to “Pending Approval”.

You can specify the resource required for completing the work unit.
Set the “Resource Type” drop-down list box to “Skill”, to add skill type resource for the work unit.
Set the “Resource Type” drop-down list box to “Tools”, to add the tools required for the work unit.
Set the “Resource Type” drop-down list box to “Equipment”, to add the equipment required for the work unit.
Set the “Resource Type” drop-down list box to “Others”, to add any other type of resource required for the work unit.
Indicate whether approval and sign-off is required
You can specify whether the whether the resource has the necessary certifications to sign off for the selected work unit. You can also specify whether a sign – off is required for the work unit.
Set the Approval Reqd ? field to “Yes” to indicate that the resource has necessary certifications to sign off for the selected work unit
Set the “Sign-Off ?” field to “Yes” to indicate that the work unit requires a sign off.

Entering resource requirement for a work unit – An overview
This option allows you to add or modify the details of resources required for executing the work units of type “Task” or “Standard procedure”. If you wish to define the resources for the work units, you can enter details such as resource code, estimated duration and the number of resources needed, against each resource type. You can indicate whether the resource has the necessary certifications to sign off for that skill. Based on this information, during work reporting, the sign-off sheet will be automatically generated by the system.
You can also retrieve resources that have already been defined for the task, and modify its details. The system updates the resource details and sets the last modified date to the current server date.
Note: You can specify the resource requirements only for visit packages that are in “Fresh” or “Confirmed” status.
When you modify the resource requirement for a “confirmed” visit package, the system resets the visit package to “Fresh” status.
