Page Overview

The "Plan Capacity" page enables you to fix the execution schedule for a work order / maintenance object. A planner can do this after ascertaining the availability of work center, parts and, human skills with regard to the work order. Through graphical means, this page depicts the allocated and the available resources. Using this information, the planner can reschedule the already scheduled work orders or move the work order tasks to a another work center where the load is relatively less. All this can be done by dragging / moving the mouse across the Gantt bars. To overcome skill bottleneck, you can move employees to the work center, where the requirement arises or utilize their overtime hours.

Although, you can find out the availability of parts that are required for a work order in this page, material planning for a work order cannot be done here.

In this page,

Tell me more - Job Details Gantt chart

The “Job Details” Gantt chart lists the pending and under progress customer orders / maintenance objects along with the planned start and end dates for the specified planning horizon. It will also list the Prospect and Bid type of customer orders for the matching criteria, if any. Internal maintenance jobs on aircrafts / components are also displayed using Gantt charts. For these orders, you can look for conflicts arising because of schedule and the same can be resolved to facilitate efficient execution. To solve the conflict, you can either move the maintenance job to another work center or re-schedule the order to a future date by dragging and dropping the time bars to the required timeline.

4 Move the customer order time bars across date lines, provided the customer order is not yet released for execution can reschedule the customer order.

4 Specific colors differentiate Firm Orders from Planned Orders of type Bid and Prospect.

4 Customer orders which are not scheduled are listed as Unscheduled in the Job Details Gantt chart.

4 In the “Job Conflicts” multiline, traffic lights in specific colors indicate any conflicts with regard to parts, resources, MEL or EO for the customer orders displayed in the “Job Details” multiline.

Tell me more - Work Center Loading Details Gantt Chart

The ”Work Center Loading Details” Gantt chart displays the timelines for tasks scheduled for the specified work center. These tasks indicate the maintenance jobs to be performed on a maintenance object with or without reference to a customer order specified by the planner for a specified planning horizon. Planners can identify any work center bottlenecks with regard to tasks and resolve them by,

4 Reallocating tasks to other work centers / external facilities.

4 Reschedule the tasks by moving the time bars to an earlier date or a later date.

Note: Planners can analyze / solve bottlenecks associated with problem customer orders based on Job Conflicts Traffic Light display.

Note: Facilities (Tools or Equipments) are not considered for capacity planning. Facility planning can be done as part of execution planning.

Tell me more -  Resource Load Graph

The “Resource Load Graph” facilitates the planner to analyze the resource / skill availability in a work center, which faces resource constraint in executing a customer order.

The system generates bar graph representing a specified skill in a work center, for a planning horizon.

Note: You can find out the problem work centers from the “Work Center Loading Details” multiline.

4 Available hours, firm booking hours and plan booking hours of the skill are displayed.

4 Specific colors differentiate available hours, firm booking hours and plan booking hourrs based on color coding.

4 Based on the Plan Horizon type, the system displays load graph day wise, week wise or month wise for a specified resource.

4 For medium and long term plans, skill loading is not displayed.

4 While computing the available hours for a skill,  only the primary skill of an employee is considered.

4 Employee leave details are not considered for medium and long-term plans

Planners can now proceed to the “Identify and Resolve Resource Bottleneck” activity to resolve bottlenecks.
