Defining technical and attribute parameters for component family
This page allows you to define technical and attribute parameters for component family. Tell me more.
Select the “Edit Technical & Attribute Parameters” link in previous page.
The “Edit Technical & Attribute Parameters” page appears.
The system displays the following in the “Component Family Details” group box:

The component family selected in the main page for which the technical and attribute parameters are to be added or modified. |

The textual description of the component family. |
The system lists the parameters that have already been defined for the component family in the “Parameter Details” multiline. Enter the following fields in the multiline if you wish to attach more parameters to the component family:

The parameter to be attached to the component family (Alphanumeric, 40). Ensure that the parameter is already defined in the “Create Parameters” activity and is of type “Technical” or “Attribute”. |
The system displays the following in the multiline on clicking the “Edit Parameters” pushbutton:
UOM |
The unit of measurement of the parameter. The system leaves the field blank if you have entered an attribute parameter. |
Parameter Type |
The type of the parameter, which can be “Technical” or “Attribute”. |
Enter the following fields:
Parameter Source |
Use the drop-down list box to select the parameter source from which the value of the attribute parameter must be updated. The system provides the options “Flight Log”, “Manual”, “Parent” and “Calculated”. Leave the field blank for a technical parameter. |

Value |
The value of the attribute parameter (Alphanumeric, 32). Data entry in this field is mandatory if the parameter is an attribute parameter. |
The system displays the following field on clicking the "Edit Parameters” pushbutton.

Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the parameter for deletion.
Click the “Delete” icon provided in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the parameters selected in the multiline.
Click the "Edit Parameters" pushbutton to update the details of the attribute and technical parameters for the selected component family.
Note: The system attaches the technical and attribute parameters to the selected component family. It also fills in the “UOM”, “Parameter Type” and “Parameter Description” fields in the multiline.
Defining technical and attribute parameters for component family – An overview
In this page you can attach technical and attribute parameters, or modify the technical and attribute parameters that have already been defined, for the selected component family. You can attach parameters by entering the parameter directly, or by selecting a parameter using the help facility. In the case of attribute parameters, the parameter source has to be specified to indicate the source from which the parameter value must be updated. You can specify the value of the attribute parameter by entering the value directly or by selecting a value using the help facility. Warranty tracking is applicable for the parameter or not can also be specified.
You can also modify the details of the attribute parameters that have already been defined for the component family.

For attribute parameters, you can specify the parameter source, to indicate the source from which the parameter value must be updated.
Set the “Parameter Source” field to “Flight Log” to indicate that the parameter value has to be updated from the flight log.
Set the “Parameter Source” field to “Manual” to indicate that the parameter value has to be updated manually.
Set the “Parameter Source” field to “Parent” to indicate that the parent value has to be updated based on the parent (aircraft or component) value.
Set the “Parameter Source” field to “Calculated” to indicate that the parameter value is updated based on the formula associated to the parameter.
