The “Manage Part Restrictions” page appears.
Define / view mode
Select one of the following radio buttons in the header:

Select this radio button to create / remove restriction. |

Select this radio button to retrieve and display all the restriction records matching the entered search criteria. |
Search Criteria
Enter the following in the “Search Criteria” group box:
Part # |
The code identifying the part for which you wish to retrieve the restriction details. |
Mfr. Part # |
The manufacturer part number. |
Mfr. # |
The code identifying manufacturer of the part. |
Mfr. Serial # |
The manufacturer serial number of the part. |
Mfr. Lot # |
The manufacturer lot number of the part. |
Eff. From Date |
The starting date in the range of dates from which you wish to retrieve the restriction details. |
Eff. To Date |
The ending date in the range of dates until which you wish to retrieve the restriction details. |
View |
Use the drop-down list box and select one of the following:
By default, the system displays “All”. This drop-down list box is visible only in ‘View’ mode. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton to retrieve the part restriction details.
The search retrieves parts for which restrictions have been defined regardless of the EO reference.
Restriction details
The system displays the following fields in the “Restriction Details” multiline:

The starting manufacturer serial number in the range of serial numbers from which restriction is defined. Help facility available. |

The starting manufacturer lot number in the range of lot numbers from which restriction is defined. Help facility available. |

Note: If a valid Part # is entered, ensure the following:
‘Mfr. Serial # From’ and ‘Mfr. Serial # To’ are not entered, if Control Type of the Part # is “Lot Controlled”.
‘Mfr. Lot # From’ and ‘Mfr. Lot # To’ are not entered, if Control Type of the Part # is “Serial Controlled”.
‘Mfr. Serial # From’, ‘Mfr. Serial # To’, ‘Mfr. Lot # From’ and ‘Mfr. Lot # To’ are not entered, if Control Type of the Part # is “None Controlled”.
Entity Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the entity associated with the part on which you want to impose restrictions. The drop-down list box displays the following: Customer, Supplier and Carrier. |
Entity Code |
The unique identifier for the entity associated with the part on which you want to impose restrictions, such as customer #, supplier # or carrier #. Note: The customer #, supplier # or carrier # that you specify here must be valid and Active as defined in the Customer, Supplier or Carrier. |
Entity Description |
The name or short description of the entity associated with the part on which you want to impose restrictions. |
Restriction Code |
Use the drop-down list box and select the restriction code. The system lists all the ‘Active’ entities defined for the Entity Type ‘Stock Restriction Code’ in the “Set Process Parameters” page of the “Common Master” business component, in ascending order. By default, the system leaves the field blank. For e.g. If a restriction code ‘NO Purchase’ (User Defined) is selected and if ‘Allow Purchase Order?’ is set as “No” for the restriction code in “Set Process Parameters” page, the system will not allow the user to raise Purchase Order for the Parts having Restriction code as ‘No Purchase’ during the period for which the restriction is applicable. |
Ref. Doc Type |
Use the drop-down list box and select the type of the reference document related to the part restriction. Mandatory. The system lists the values “EO” and “Others”. You must enter a valid Engineering Document #, if Ref. Doc Type is selected as “EO”. By default, the system displays “Others”. |

Note: Ensure that the Mfr. Part #, Part #, Mfr. Serial # From, Mfr. Serial # To, Mfr. Lot # From, Mfr. Lot # To, Restriction Code and Ref. Doc # combination is unique.

Note: The ‘From Restriction Status’ and ‘To Restriction Status’ fields are visible only in ‘View’ mode.
The system displays the following fields:

The login name of the user who created the part restriction. |
Created Date |
The date on which the part restriction was created. |
Last Modified By |
The login name of the user who last modified the part restriction. |
Last Modified Date |
The date on which the part restriction was last modified. |
Note: Ensure that at least one record is selected in the multiline.
To save restriction
Click the “Save Restriction Info” pushbutton to define restrictions for the part.
If part level restriction is available, serial / lot level restriction cannot be created. Similary, if serial / lot level restriction is available for the restriction code, part level restriction cannot be created.
To remove restriction
Click the “Remove Restriction” pushbutton to remove restrictions defined for the part.
Note: The “Save Restriction Info” and the “Remove Restriction Info” pushbuttons are visible only on selecting the ‘Define’ radio button.
To proceed carry out the following:
Select the “View Part Information” link to view the part details.
Select the “View Engineering Document” to view the engineering document details.
