This activity enables the primary supervisor to assign a role of his to an alternate supervisor for authorizing timesheet records of the employees reporting to the primary supervisor. Also, the period for which an alternate supervisor is effective for approving the time records can be set in this activity.

The “Maintain Alternate Authorizer Info” page appears.

The system displays the following field in the “Primary Authorizer Info” group box:

User Name

The code identifying the login user.

Role

Use the drop-down list box to specify the role for which you wish to assign an alternate supervisor.

The system defaults the default role of the login user

Valid from / to

The starting date in the range of dates from which the alternate authorizer is valid. Mandatory.

Ensure that the date entered in this field is later than the “Valid To” date.

The system displays the current system date by default.

 

The ending date in the range of dates within which the alternate authorizer is valid for the login user. The system retrieves the details of all the alternate authorizers whose validity falls within the date range specified here.

By default the system leaves this field blank.

Status

Use the drop-down list box to specify the status of the time record for which you wish to retrieve details in the multiline. The system lists the options:

  • Active - Select this option to retrieve all the active time records.

  • All - Select this option to retrieve all the active and inactive time records.

 

Effective From

The starting date in the range of dates from which the alternate supervisor is effective for the particular role of the login user. Mandatory.

Effective To

The ending date in the range of dates up to which the alternate supervisor is effective for the particular role of the login user.

The date entered in this field must be later than the “Effective From” date.

Authorizer Code

The code identifying the authorizer for whom you wish to maintain details. Mandatory.

Ensure that the code entered in this field is a valid employee code as defined in the “HRMS” business component.

The system displays the following field in the “Alternate Authorizer Info” multiline:

Authorizer Name

The name of the alternate authorizer corresponding to the authorizer code entered for which you wish to save details.

Note: On screen launch the system displays all the valid information pertaining to the alternate authorizer which is valid as on the current date and the future date corresponding to the login user.

Remarks

Any comments pertaining to the alternate authorizer.

Status

The status of the time record. The system lists the following options:

  • Active - Select this option if you wish to activate a time record.

  •  Inactive – Select this option if you wish to inactivate a time record.

Note that the system does not allow you to delete a record. Instead you can set the record as “Inactive”.

The system displays “active” by default in this field.

The system displays the following field in the “Primary Authorizer Info” group box:

Created Date

The date on which the record was created.

Last Mod. Date

The date on which the record was last modified.

Assign an alternate authorizer for a specific role for a date range

4   Use the “Primary Authorizer info.” group box to search for the role.

4   Use the “Alternate Authorizer Info” groupbox, to assign an alternate authorizer.

Prerequisites

4   The process parameter “Time records approval by alternate authorizer” for the parameter “Common” must have been set as “Required” the “Set Process Parameters” activity of the “Time Tracking Setup” business component.
