Selecting carrier for activating or deactivating

This page permits you to search and select the carrier codes. You can directly specify the carrier code you wish to activate or deactivate. You can also carry out a search by specifying the carrier related details as the search criteria.

On creation, the status of the carrier is “Active”. The status is set to “Inactive”, when you deactivate the carrier. Once activated, the status of the carrier is set as “Active”.

Select the “Activate/Deactivate Carrier” link under the “Carrier” business component.

The “Select Carrier” page appears.

Enter the following field, if you wish to view the carrier code details before activating or deactivating:

Carrier Code

The code identifying the carrier to be activated or deactivated (Alphanumeric, 20).

Select the “Activate/Deactivate Carrier” link, to view the carrier details before activating or deactivating.

To search for a carrier code

Enter the following details in the “Search Criteria” group box, to search for a carrier:

Carrier Code	The code identifying the carrier (Alphanumeric, 20). You can enter the code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character.
Status	Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the carrier. The system provides the options “Active”, “Inactive” and “Both”.
Carrier Name	The name of the carrier (Alphanumeric, 25). You can enter the code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character.
Effective From	The date starting from which the carrier becomes effective (Date Format).
Effective To	The date till which the carrier remains effective (Date Format).
Address Id	The address ID of the carrier (Alphanumeric, 6).
City	The name of the city (Alphanumeric, 40).
State	The name of the state (Alphanumeric, 40).
Zip Code	The code identifying the area (Alphanumeric, 20).
Transportation Mode	The code identifying the mode for transporting goods from a shipping point to a particular delivery area (Alphanumeric, 25).
Delivery Area Code	The code identifying the area, where the goods are delivered (Alphanumeric, 18).

Click the “Search” pushbutton.

The system displays the search results in the multiline.

Carrier Code	The code identifying the carrier.
Carrier Name	The name of the carrier.
City	The name of the city.
State	The name of the state.
Country	The name of the country.
Address Id	The code pertaining to the address of the carrier.
Status	The status of the carrier.

Enter the following field:

Reason Code

The code identifying the reason for which the carrier is activated or deactivated (Alphanumeric, 10). The reason code must have been defined in the “Create Category Type“ activity of the “Category“ business component.

Data entry in this field is mandatory, if you wish to deactivate the carrier code.

The system displays the following detail:

Reason

The description of the reason code.

Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline, to mark the carrier code for activating or deactivating.
Click the “Activate” pushbutton, to activate the selected carrier codes.

Note: You can activate only those carrier codes that are in “Inactive” status.

The status of the carrier is set as “Active”.

Click the “Deactivate” pushbutton to deactivate the selected carrier codes.

Note: You can deactivate only those carrier codes that are in “Active” status.

The status of the carrier is set as “Inactive”.

Prerequisite

The Reason Code must be defined in the “Create Category Type” activity of the “Category” business component.
