Authorize Overtime Claims-Direct Entry - A summary of the activity

Through this activity, authorizers can approve or disapprove the overtime claims submitted by employees using the “Request for overtime claims – direct entry” or  “Record overtime claims – direct entry” activity.

This page retrieves only those overtime claims awaiting authorization. Rejected overtime claims, which are modified and submitted again, are also displayed.

This activity allows authorizers to:

•  View comprehensive details of yet-to-be authorized overtime claims

•  Finalize the entitled overtime hours

•  Attach remarks to overtime claims

•  Authorize overtime claims individually or collectively

•  Reject overtime claims individually or collectively

A search facility is provided to retrieve specified overtime claims of specified employees.

Note: This activity does not calculate the compensation as a result of overtime. It only computes the final overtime hours entitled to you.

Once authorized, the overtime information is utilized by the payroll business component.

Authorizing overtime claims-direct entry

Use this activity to authorize or reject overtime claims of employees submitted to you using “Request for overtime claims – direct entry” or Record overtime claims – direct entry” activity. 

• Specify the date range for the overtime claims, and employee code range in the search criteria. Details of the selected overtime claims including date, day, day type, time from and time to, hours worked, break time, callback duty, various OT rates, causes for overtime are fetched.

• Enter the entitled overtime hours as decided by you an your remarks. The value in the “hours” field will be updated. 

• Authorize  or reject claims. Rejected claims may be modified and submitted again by the employee.
