The purpose of this activity is two-fold:
To define rules that will be applicable for all the employees under a specified organization unit
To enter the leave of an employee
Defining Rules: This is typically a one-time procedure, where you define rules through stored procedures. By selecting the "Define Rule" link, you access the stored procedure interface called "Maintain Business Rule". Through this interface, you can create leave rules.
Entering Leave: The "Maintain Employee Leave" page is routinely used by the supervisor to enter a given employee's leave details. The essential details of the employee's leave, which he must enter besides the employee code, are
The leave type; this could be Casual Leave, Privilege Leave, Sick Leave and Maternity Leave
The date range for which the leave is applicable
The time range for the leave, if the leave is to be in Hours
The system fills you in, on the shift that is scheduled already for the employee on this date. You can view the name of the shift, and its start and end timings.

What you can do in this activity
Enter the leave details of an employee

You can enter and maintain routine leave details of an employee. The essential details of the employee's leave, which he must enter besides the employee code, type of leave such as Casual or Privileged, and the period of leave
Use the "Maintain Employee Leave" page, to enter leave details.
You can retrieve the leave details of an employee and edit all its details.
