4      Select the “Edit CPF Rate Table” hyperlink from the “Select Rate Table” page.

4      The “Edit CPF Rate Table” page appears.

4      The system displays the following details at the top of the page.

Date Format

The date format that is applicable to the login user. More Details.

4      You can edit the following details of the rate table.

Currency

The currency applicable to the CPF rate table, for example, U.S Dollars, Euro, Singapore Dollars etc. From the drop-down list box, select the required currency description.

CPF Rate Table For

The type of organization for which the CPF rate table should be applicable, for example, private, public etc.

To get CPF Rate Table details

4      Select the “Get Details” pushbutton.

4      The system displays in the “File Reference” field below, the path and description of the folder in which the CPF rate table details are stored.

4      Select the applicable CPF type from the “CPF Type” drop-down list box.

You can use the “CPF Type” drop-down list box to select the required value to indicate if the central provident fund pertains to pensioners, non pensioners, citizens etc.

4      Select the “Get Details” pushbutton beside to get rate table details.

To view the effective dates of the record

4      Use the “Access Data History” group box. The system displays the following details.

Effective From

The date from which the particular version of the record is in effect.

Effective To

The date from which the particular version of the record will be in effect.

No. of Records

The system displays both the version number and the total number of records. For example, 4 of 10, it indicates that the particular record is the fourth version of a total of ten records.

To view the previous version of the record

4      Select the “Previous” pushbutton.

To view the next version of the record

4      Select the “Next” pushbutton.

4      The system displays in the “Rate Table” multiline, the following details of the rate table applicable to the details specified above.

Contributed By

Indicates if the amount towards CPF is contributed by the employer or the employee. From the drop-down list box, select the required option: “Employer” indicates that the contribution is made by the employer, “Employee” indicates that the contribution is made by the employee.

Wage Over

Indicates the lower wage limit from which the rate table is applicable, for example, if the value is 1000 and the currency selected from the “Currency” drop-down list box above is Singapore $, it indicates that the rate table will be applicable for wages above Singapore $ 1000.

But Not Over

The upper wage limit till which the rate table is applicable, for example, if the value is 2000 and the currency selected from the “Currency” drop-down list box above is Singapore $, it indicates that the rate table is applicable till an upper wage limit of Singapore $2000.

Age From

The lower age limit of the employee from which the rate is applicable, for example, if the value is 30, it indicates that the rate table is applicable to all employee who are 30 years old.

Age To

The upper age limit of the employee till which the rate is applicable, for example, if the value is 45, it indicates that the rate table is applicable to employees up to attaining 45 years of age.

Flat Amount

The flat amount to be provided for the given combination.

Ordinary Wages (%)

Indicates the percentage of Ordinary Wages the contribution must amount to. Ordinary wages are the basic salary components of the employee excluding yearly benefits.

Ordinary Wage Max. Limit

The upper limit of the ordinary wages till which the rate table is applicable. For example, if the value is $4500, it indicates that the rate table is applicable to employees whose ordinary wages do not exceed $4500.

Fraction of Difference

It is the multiplying factor for the CPF contribution derivation. This will be specified by the CPF agency in the CPF contribution rates.

Additional Wages (%)

Indicates the percentage the CPF contribution amounts to in the additional wages of the employee.

Difference

The difference will be an amount which must be deducted from the total wages and the resulting amount will be multiplied by the multiplying factor (fraction of difference). The difference value will be indicated by the CPF agency in the CPF contribution rates.

Fraction Numerator

If the CPF amount is computed on the basis of a specified parameter such as 15% of the Total Wages + 1/3 (Total Wages – 500), you are to indicate the fraction numerator as 1. Here 500 which is deducted from Total Wages is the Difference amount.

Fraction Denominator

If the CPF amount is computed on the basis of a specified parameter such as 15% of the Total Wages + 1/3 (Total Wages – 500), you are to indicate the fraction denominator as 3. Here 500 which is deducted from Total Wages is the Difference amount.

To compute CPF on the basis of a rule

4      Specify the rule on the basis of which the CPF amount should be computed in the “CPF Rate Rule” field.

To access help on predefined CPF rate rules

4      Select the help icon beside the “CPF Rate Rule” field.

To define a new rule

4      Select the “Define Rule” hyperlink beside the “CPF Rate Rule” field.

Comments

Any additional comments you want to enter pertaining to the details.

To enter comments

4      Select the book icon beside the comments field.

4      A dialog box appears in which you can enter the comments.

4      Select the “OK” pushbutton to save the details and close the dialog box.

4      Select the “Cancel” pushbutton to cancel the dialog box.

To specify a modification option

4      Select “Correct” or “Update” from the “Modification Option” drop-down list box.

4      To effect modifications in the record without any change in the effective dates of the record, select the “Correct” option.

4      To close the existing record and create a new record containing the changes you make, select the “Update” option.

Note: If you select the “Update” option, you are to provide a new effective date from which the record should come into effect.

To save the changes

4      Select the “Save” pushbutton at the bottom of the page.
