Edit Rate Tables – A summary of the activity

Through this activity, you can edit rate table details. Through the rate table, you can maintain the rates for deducting the contributions for CPF and other funds like MBMF, SINDA, CDAC, CCF, FWL etc. The rate table will take into account the age range and/or the wage range to compute the slab for deducting the contributions. To edit rate table details you are to first indicate the rate table type viz., CPF(Central Provident Fund), Other Funds, Item Rates and FWL(Foreign Workers’ Levy). Based on the fund type that you specify, you can select the applicable rate table and make the necessary changes. Note that there will be a separate rate table for CPF on the one hand and another one for the other funds like MBMF, SINDA, CDAC, FWL, CCF, SDL etc. The rate table will also be defined for the apartment items. The rate tables will have a generic structure which will enable the HR user to enter the required data pertaining to different funds.
The CPF Rate Table details you can edit are:
The type of organization for which the rate table should be applicable, for example, private, government etc.
The CPF type which indicates if the fund pertains to citizens, PR holders for one year and PR holders for two years. The employees can be Pensionable or non-Pensionable employees also.
The date from which the rate table will come into effect.
The details of the rate table. These details indicate if the contribution is by the employer or the employee, the income and age range for which the rate table is applicable etc.
The Other Funds rate table details you can edit are:
The fund type value and the effective from date of the record.
The income range for which the rate table is applicable, the amount to be deducted and the percentage of the amount in the salary of the employee
The Foreign Workers’ Levy Rate Table details you can edit are:
The currency in which the amount is to be collected and the effective from date of the record.
The foreign worker type which indicates if the foreign worker is a skilled or unskilled worker etc.
The daily or monthly levy value.
The apartment item rate table details you can edit are:
The currency in which the amount is to be collected and the effective from date of the record.
The description of the apartment items for which the rate table is applicable and the rate applicable per unit of the item.
The system also facilitate specifying a rule based on which the rate table should be computed. Also you can select from a list of predefined rules and specify the required rule for any of the rate tables.
Modification Option: While modifying the rate tables applicable to any fund, you can use one of the two available modification options viz., “Correct” and “Update”. If you choose the Correct option, the changes you make will come into effect in the existing record itself. If you choose the Update option, the system closes the existing version of the record and will create a new record containing the changes you make. You are to specify a new effective date which will become the effective date for the new record.
