Selecting position for succession plan

Select the “Succession Plan for Position ” from the left pane
The “Select Position for Succession Plan” appears.
The system displays the following

Date Format |
The date format that is applicable to the login user. |
Enter the following
|
Succession Planning Unit |
From the drop-down list box, select the organization unit in which the Succession Planning Setup component is deployed |
To select through Direct Entry
Enter the following

Unit Structure Setup |
From the drop-down list box, select the name of the organization unit in which the Unit Structure component is deployed. |

Position Code |
The position code of the position for which succession is to be planned. Help Available |
Select the “Succession Planning” link.
To select through Search Criteria
In the search criteria group box, specify the search criteria based on which the system will fetch the records.
Enter the following search criteria values, in some or all of the following fields.

Unit Structure Setup |
From the drop-down list box, select the name of the organization unit in which the Unit Structure component is deployed. |

Plan For |
From the drop-down list, select any one of the following options:

Position Title |
To retrieve the unit structure records of a specific position title, type in the character(s) of this position title in any combination with wild cards. |
|
|
Department Short Description |
To retrieve the unit structure records of a specific department, type in the character(s) of this department in any combination with wild cards. |
|
|
Job Level Short Description |
To retrieve the unit structure records of a specific job level description, type in the character(s) of the job level in any combination with wild .cards |
|
|
Job Title |
To retrieve the unit structure records of a specific job title, type in the character(s) of this job title in any combination with wild cards. |

Select the “Search” pushbutton.
The multiline displays the following unit structure details that satisfy your search criteria

Unit Structure Setup |
The name of organization unit in which the Unit Structure component is deployed |
|
Position Code |
The unique position code of the position |
|
Position Title |
The title of the position in the context of the department |
|
Department |
The name of the department |
|
Job |
The name of the job |
|
Job Level |
The job level pertaining to the job |
Select the hyperlinked position code in the multiline if you selected the position through Search Criteria, or
Select the “Succession Plan” hyperlink, if you selected the position through Direct Entry
The “Succession Plan for Position” page appears.
