Setting a date of currency exchange rate
Select “Set Date of Currency exchange rate” from the left pane.
The “Set Date of Currency exchange Rate ” page appears.
The page displays the following field.

From the “Payroll Processing Unit“ drop-down list box, select the payroll processing unit for which the date of currency exchange rate must be set. The drop-down list box displays all the payroll processing units for which you have permissions to set the date of currency exchange rate. Tell me more
All the payrolls mapped to the selected payroll-processing unit become available in the “Payroll Description” drop-down list box. Select the payroll for which you want to set the currency exchange rate.
Note: The activity of specifying the exchange type must be carried out already, in the “Set Currency Exchange Type” activity
All the exchange rate types are now available in the “Exchange Rate Specified” drop-down list box. The drop-down list contains the following three values: “Payroll”, “Payset” and “Process Period”.
To specify/modify the exchange rate for a payroll
Select the “Payroll” option in the “Exchange Rate Specified” drop-down list box.
From the “Payroll Description” drop-down list box, select the payroll for which you require to specify the exchange rate.
Select the date on which the currency exchange rate must be specified, by choosing an option from the “Exchange Rate Option” drop-down list box. The options from which you can select are as follows: “Last Date of Process Period”, “First Date of Process Period” or “Specific Day of Process Period. If a value has been entered earlier, this value is displayed by default. You can change this value.
If you select the “Specific Day of Process Period” option, enter the day based on which the exchange rate must be determined, in the “Process Period Day” field.
Select the “Save” pushbutton.
To specify / modify the exchange rate for a payset
From the “Payroll Description” drop-down list box, select the payroll under which the payset is to be selected.
Select the “Payset” option in the “Exchange Rate Specified” drop-down list box.
The system will display all the paysets mapped to the selected payroll in the multiline. The following payset details in the multiline
Payset Code |
The code that identifies each payset under the payroll. |
Payset Description |
The description of the payset code. |
Currency Code |
The code of the currency set at the time of defining a payset. |
Currency |
The description of the currency code. |
Enter the following in the multiline for each payset
Exchange Rate Option |
From the “Exchange Rate Option” drop-down list box in the “Exchange Rate For Payroll” group box, select the date based on which the currency exchange rate must be specified. |

If you select the “Specific Day of Process Period” option, enter the day in the process period based on which the exchange rate must be determined. |
Select the “Save” pushbutton.
To set an exchange rate to an entire payroll for a specific process period
Select the “Process Period” option from the “Exchange Rate Specified” drop-down list box.
In the “Exchange Rate for Payroll” group box select the day whose prevailing rate the system must apply, for converting the base salary into the payset currency, from the “Exchange Rate Option” drop-down list box. The options from which you can select are “Last Date of Process Period”, “First Date of Process Period” or “Specific Day of Process Period.
If you select the “Specific Day of Process Period” option, enter the date based on which the exchange rate must be determined, in the “Process Period Day” field.
To specify/modify the exchange rate to payset(s) for a specific process period
Select “Process Period” in the “Exchange Rate Specified” drop-down list box.
Select the “Specified Exchange Rate for Process Period” hyperlink.
The “Specified Exchange Rate for Process Period” page appears.
