Selecting an increment set to view
Select the “View Increment Set Definition” link under the “Increments” component.
The “Select Increment Set” page appears.
From the “Increment Unit” drop-down list box, select the organization unit under which you require to select the increment set to view.
Select the increment set, to be viewed, either through the “Direct Entry” group box or through the “Search Criteria” group box.
To select through Direct Entry
Use this method if you know the complete increment set ID.
Enter the ID of the increment set that must be viewed, in the “Increment Set ID” field.
Select the “View Increment Set Definition” hyperlink
The “View Increment Set” Definition page appears, where you can view all the details of the increment set.
To select through Search Criteria
Use this method, if you know just a few characters of the increment plan ID or the increment set description. In the search criteria group box, specify the search criteria based on which the system will fetch the records.
To specify the search criteria, you can enter one or more characters that the increment set ID contains. Optionally, you can enter the increment set description, increment type and increment pattern, to narrow your search. Search based on wild card characters is also supported.
Enter the following search criteria values, in some or all of the following fields.
Increment Set ID |
The ID of the increment set. Alternatively, type in these characters in any combination with wild cards. |
Example, ANV-EMP*, will search for those increment sets that start with ANV-EMP. Other examples are *EMP and A*EMP. | |

The description of increment set |
Increment Type |
To view all increment sets that are of a specific increment type, choose this increment type from the drop-down list box. For example, if you wish to retrieve only scale-based increment sets, choose “Scale-based”. |
Increment Pattern |
To view all increment sets that are of a specific increment pattern, choose this increment pattern from the drop-down list box. For example, if you wish to retrieve only anniversary-based increment sets, choose “Anniversary-based”. |
Select the “Search” pushbutton.
Note: If only one search criteria value is entered, the system
will fetch the records that satisfy this value.
If more than one search criteria value is entered, the system will fetch
the records satisfying all the specified values.
If you do not enter any value in the search criteria group box and select
the “Search” pushbutton, the system will fetch all the records that are
applicable to the selected increment unit.
The system displays the following details in the multiline, for the increment set records that satisfy the search criteria specified.
Increment Set ID |
The unique ID of each increment set |
Increment Set Description |
The description of the increment set |
Increment Type |
The type of the increment set. If you had specified an increment type as search criteria, only increment sets of this specified type will be displayed. |
Increment Pattern |
The pattern of the increment set. If you had specified an increment pattern as search criteria, only increment sets of this specified pattern will be displayed. |
From the “Search Result” multiline, select the increment set that must be viewed. To select, check the “Select” box contained in the increment set record.
Select the “View Increment Set Definition” link.
The “View Increment Set Definition” page appears.
