Selecting an employee for garnishments
Select the “Record Garnishment Data” link from the left pane.
The “Select employee for garnishment” page appears.
The system displays the following.

Select/ Enter the following.
Garnishment Setup Unit |
Select the organization unit in which you must record the details of garnishment for an employee. The drop-down list box displays all the organization units where you have permission to record garnishments for employee. |
Employment Unit |
From the drop-down list box select the employment unit of the employee whose garnishment data must be recorded. |
Garnishment |
By default, the system will display with “New” value. Select “New” to create new garnishment data for an employee. From the drop-down list box select “Existing” if the garnishment data already exists for the employee. |
To select through direct entry
Use this method if you know the complete code of the employee code or garnishment document number of the employee.
Enter the code of the employee and the garnishment document number for which garnishment details are to be recorded if the record already exists. Or enter only the code of the employee if you have to record the garnishment details for a new record.
Select the “Record Garnishment” hyperlink.
The “Record Garnishment” page appears. You can record the necessary details. If the details are entered previously, they will be displayed.

To select through search criteria
Use this method, if you know just a few characters of the employee code or the employee name. In the search criteria group box, specify the search criteria based on which the system will fetch the records.
To specify the search criteria, you must enter one or more characters that the employee code or description contain. Search based on wild card characters is also supported.
Enter the following search criteria values, in some or all of the following fields.
Employee Code |
To view the employee codes containing specific characters, type in the starting character(s) of the employee codes. |
Alternatively, type in these characters in any combination with wild cards. Example, Grnt1*, will search for those garnishment codes that start with Grmt1. Other examples are *Grmt1, G*1 and Grmt* |

Garnishment Setup Short Description |
To view all garnishment setup short descriptions containing specific characters, type in the starting character/s of the short description. |
Alternatively, type in these characters in any combination with wild cards. Example, Garnishment*, will search for those garnishment short descriptions that start with Garnishment*,. Other examples are *Gar, Gar*l, and *nish* |
Select the “ Search” pushbutton.
Note: If only one search criteria value is entered, the system will fetch the records that satisfy this value.
If more than one search criteria value is entered, the system will fetch the records satisfying all the specified values.
If you do not enter any value in the search criteria group box and select the “Search” pushbutton, the system will fetch all the records that are applicable to the selected garnishment definition record.
The system displays the following details in the multiline, for the garnishment definition records that satisfy the search criteria specified.
Employee Code |
The unique that identifies an employee code. |
Employee Name |
The name of the employee |
Garnishment Document # |
The document number generated by the system for a particular garnishment type. Note that the system will display the document number only if the record exists earlier. |
From the multiline, select the record that must be recorded or modified, by checking beside the record in the “Select” column.
Select the “Record Garnishment” hyperlink.
The “Record Garnishment” page appears.
