Select the “ Help” icon beside the Pay Element Code.
The “Help on Pay Elements” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date Format |
The date format applicable to the login user. Tell me more |
To specify the search criteria
In the search criteria group box, specify the search criteria based on which the system will fetch the records.
Enter one or more of the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box.
Payroll Description |
From the drop-down list box, select the payroll description. |
Payset Description |
From the drop-down list box, select the payset description. |
Process Period |
To view all process period descriptions containing specific characters, type in the starting character or characters of these descriptions. |
Pay Element Code |
To view all pay element codes containing specific characters, type in the starting character or characters of these pay element codes. |
Alternatively, type in these characters in any combination with wild cards. Example. PYEL*, will search for those pay element codes that start with PYEL. Other examples are *PYEL, P*EL and P*L* |

Pay Element Description |
To view all pay element descriptions containing specific characters, type in the starting character or characters of these pay elements. |
Alternatively, type in these characters in any combination with wild cards. Example. PYEL*, will search for those pay element descriptions that starts with PYEL |

Org. Unit |
The Org. Unit for which the pay element is applicable. |
Select the “Search” push button.
The system will display all the pay element records that satisfy the search criteria.
The multiline displays the following details of the pay elements under the selected Org. Unit.
Pay Element Code |
A unique code to identify the Pay element. |
Pay Element Description |
A unique description of the Pay element. |
Alias |
A unique alias of the Pay element. |
Classification |
It is the Basic classification to group pay elements. Select one from drop down list box. |
Taxable |
“Yes” implies the pay element is subject to tax under law and “No” implies Pay element is non-taxable. |
Recurring |
If the pay element is a recurring one, “yes” is displayed otherwise “No” will be displayed. |
Separate Round Off |
Separate Round Off” indicates that the difference of the number and its nearest whole number will be posted under a separate account number in general ledger “yes” implies that the pay element has “separate round off” feature otherwise “No” is displayed. |
Priority |
The priority in number to process the pay element according to the priority.. |
From the displayed records, select the record by checking the corresponding “Select” column of the record.
Select the “Ok” pushbutton.
The details of the selected pay element will be transferred to the previous page.
