How to use the web page

Using online help

This page allows you to record the 9 box rating parameter details for an employee. You can specify the 9 box rating details like rating from and rating to of x-axis and y-axis. In this page you can map the x-axis and y-axis with the objective group and objective type.

The “Record 9 Box Rating Parameters” page appears.

Appraisal Setup Unit

The drop-down list box displays the set of organization units in which the Appraisal Setup component is deployed.

From the “Appraisal Setup Unit” drop-down list box, select the organization unit where appraisal objective parameter has been defined.

The system displays the following field:

Date Format

The date format that is applicable to the login user.

Appraisal Type

From the drop-down list box, select the type of appraisal for which the appraisal calendar will be defined.

Appraisal Calendar Code

The code of the appraisal calendar in which the appraisal falls.

The system retrieves and displays the following details:

Calendar Short Description

A short description of the appraisal calendar.

Period From

The date from which the appraiser is mapped to the appraisee.

Period To

The date until which the appraiser is mapped to the appraisee.

9-Box rating Mechanism

From the drop-down list box, select the mechanism of the 9 box rating. The combo is loaded with the values “Automatic” and “Manual” from the user defined in the quick codes.

9 Box Rating / Rate Grade Entry and Display Format

From the drop-down list box, select the display format for 9 box rating and rate grade entry. The combo is loaded with the values “Both Rating and Grade”, “Grade Only” and “Rating Only” from the user defined in the quick codes.

X-Axis Description

The description of the X-axis.

Y-Axis Description

The description of the Y-axis.

The system displays the following details:

Status

The status of the parameter. The status could be “Draft” and “Submitted”.

The system displays the following details in the “9 Box Rating Details” multiline:

X - Axis Grade

The grade of the x-axis. The values could be “Low”, “Medium” and “High”.

% Rating from

The number which indicates the lower limit of the rating in percentage, for the x-axis grade. The “Rating From“ value of each multiline row must be continuous with the “Rating To“ value of the next consecutive multiline row. For example, the grade could be “Low“, and the ratings are 00 to 20. The next consecutive grade could be “Medium“; the ratings could be from 20.1 to 50.

% Rating to

The number which indicates the upper limit of the rating in percentage, for the x-axis grade.

Any remarks or comments regarding the x-axis rating.

The system displays the following details in the “9 Box Rating Details” multiline:

Y - Axis Grade

The grade of the y-axis. The values could be “Low”, “Medium” and “High”.

% Rating from

The number which indicates the lower limit of the rating in percentage, for the y-axis grade. The “Rating From“ value of each multiline row must be continuous with the “Rating To“ value of the next consecutive multiline row. For example, the grade could be “Low“, and the ratings are 00 to 20. The next consecutive grade could be “Medium“; the ratings could be from 20.1 to 50.

% Rating to

The number which indicates the upper limit of the rating in percentage, for the y-axis grade.

Any remarks or comments regarding the y-axis rating.

The system computes and displays the following in the “9 Box Rating Color Scheme” multiline:

X - Axis Grade

The grade of the x-axis. The values could be “Low”, “Medium” and “High”.

% Rating from

The number which indicates the lower limit of the rating in percentage, for the x-axis.

% Rating to

The number which indicates the upper limit of the rating in percentage, for the x-axis.

Y - Axis Grade

The grade of the y-axis. The values could be “Low”, “Medium” and “High”.

% Rating from

The number which indicates the lower limit of the rating in percentage, for the y-axis.

% Rating to

The number which indicates the upper limit of the rating in percentage, for the y-axis.

Color

From the drop-down list box, select the color to be defined for the 9 box rating graph. The combo is loaded from the user defined quick codes.

Remarks

Any remarks or comments regarding the color scheme of the 9 box rating.

Parameter Category

From the drop-down list box, select the parameter category for the calendar code. The combo is loaded from the user defined quick codes. One or many parameter categories can be mapped to the calendar.

The system retrieves and displays the following in the “Objective Group and Type Mapping for X-Axis and Y-Axis” multiline:

Objective Group

From the drop-down list box, select the objective group for which you want to map the x-axis and y-axis. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in "Record Appraisal Objective Parameter" activity for the selected appraisal calendar in the multiline. The system displays "Blank" by default on launch of the page.

Objective Type

From the drop-down list box, select the type of an objective for which you want to map the x-axis and y-axis. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in "Record Appraisal Objective Parameter" activity for the selected appraisal calendar in the multiline. The system displays "Blank" by default on launch of the page.

Axis Mapping

From the drop-down list box, specify the axis which is mapped to the objective group and type. The combo is loaded with the values “Not Applicable”, “X-Axis” and “Y-Axis”.

The system displays the following in the “Objective Group and Type Mapping for X-Axis and Y-Axis” multiline:

The description of the axis.

Remarks

Any remarks or comments regarding the mapping of the axis.

The system saves and changes the status to “Submitted”. Once submitted, you cannot be modified.
