Recording the appraisal calendar
Select the “Record Appraisal Calendar” link under Appraisal Setup, from the left pane.
The “Record Appraisal Calendar” page appears.
Enter the following fields
Appraisal Setup Unit |
The drop-down list box displays the set of organization units in which the Appraisal Setup component is deployed. Tell me more. From the “Appraisal Setup Unit” drop-down list box, select the organization unit where appraisal calendar has been defined. |
Date Format |
The date format that is applicable to the login user. |
To identify an appraisal calendar
Enter the following
Appraisal Type |
From the drop-down list box, select the type of appraisal for which the appraisal calendar will be defined. It can be one of the following

Appraisal Calendar Code |
Enter a unique code to identify the appraisal calendar. |
Calendar Short Description |
Enter a short description of the calendar. |
Calendar Long Description |
Enter a long description of the calendar. |
Period From |
Enter the date from which the appraisal calendar starts. |
Period To |
Enter the date on which the appraisal calendar ends. |
Valid Upto |
Enter the date until which the appraisal calendar is valid. It is the date within which the appraisal exercise must be completed. Ensure that the date entered is greater than the “Period From” date. |
Maximum Rating Percentage |
Enter a number to indicate the maximum rating percentage assigned for the appraisal calendar. The highest / maximum rating percentage must be 100. If this field is left blank, the system will display the maximum rating percentage entered in multline, after you submit the document . |

To specify the rates for a grade
Enter the following in the “Grading” multiline
Rating Percentage From |
Enter a number to indicate the lower limit of the rating percentage, for this grade. The “Rating Percentage From“ value of each multiline row must be continuous with the “Rating Percentage To“ value of the next consecutive multiline row. For example, the grade could be “Good“, and the rating percentages are 70 to 80. The next consecutive grade could be “Very Good“; the rating percentages could be from 80.1 to 90. The lower limit of the lowest grade must start from 0.0. |
Rating Percentage To |
Enter a number to indicate the upper limit of the rating percentage, for this grade. The “Rating To” value of the grade with the highest percentage must be the same value you entered in the ‘Maximum Rating Percentage’ field. |
Appraisal Rating Grade |
From the drop-down list box, choose the grade for which you require to specify the ratings |
Appraisal Rating Grade Long Description |
The detailed description of the appraisal rating grade. |
Normalization Standard % |
The normalization standard specified in percentage. |
Enter any or all of the following
Appraisal Is Employee Assignment Specific |
From the drop-down list, select “Yes” if the appraisal is specific to the employee’s assignment. Otherwise, select “No”. |
Appraisal Acceptance By Employee Before Countersigning Officer Review |
From the drop-down list, select “Yes” if the employee must accept the appraisal, before it is given it to the countersigning officer for reviewing. Otherwise, select “No”. |
Appraisal Rating/Rate Grade Entry and Display Format |
From the drop-down list box, select the format for the display. The drop-down list displays the following values:

Recommendations Mandatory |
From the drop-down list box, select “Yes” if the recommendation is mandatory. Otherwise select “No”. |
Initiation Appraisal Mail To |
From the drop-down list box, select one of the following options “All”, “Employees and Appraisers only” and “Employees Only”. |

The target date on which the mail alert sent. |
Send Alert To |
From the drop-down list box, select the person to whom the mail alert sent for the specified stage. The combo is loaded with the options as defined in quick codes. |
Alert Before (in days) |
Enter the target date before which the mail alert has to be sent. |
Escalation To |
From the drop-down list box, select the person to whom the mail alert escalated for the specified stage. The combo is loaded with the options as defined in quick codes. |
Escalation Alert After (in days) |
Enter the target date after which the escalation alert has to be sent. |
To save appraisal calendar details
Select the “Save” pushbutton.
The system saves the details.
To delete appraisal calendar details
Select "Delete” pushbutton.
The system deletes the existing details.
