Create Position Hierarchy
This activity allows you to create a position hierarchy in an organization. In this activity, a hierarchy code with a short and long description with an apex position is defined for an organization unit. You can also specify whether the defined hierarchy code is primary or not through this activity. The date from which the position hierarchy will be effective is specified through this activity.
Select the “Create Position Hierarchy” activity under the “Position Hierarchy” business component.
The “Create Position Hierarchy” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date Format |
The date format that the login user has already specified in the Enterprise Modeller component. |
Enter the following field details to create a Position Hierarchy:
Organization Structure Unit |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the organization structure unit for which the position hierarchy is to be created. Mandatory. |
Hierarchy Code |
A unique code identifying the position hierarchy. Mandatory. |
Hierarchy Short Description |
A short description of the hierarchy. Mandatory. |
Hierarchy Long Description |
A more detailed description of the hierarchy. |
Primary |
Select the check box to indicate that the position hierarchy is primary. |
Apex Position |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the top position in the position hierarchy. Mandatory. |
Effective From |
The date from which the position hierarchy is effective. Mandatory. |
Click the “Save” pushbutton to save the position hierarchy details.
To proceed, carry out the following:
Select the “Set Hierarchy Values” link at the bottom of the page to set the hierarchy values.
