Select “Create Department Hierarchy” from left pane.
The “Create Department Hierarchy” page appears.
The system displays the following details at the top right of the page.
Date Format |
The date format that is applicable to the login user. |
Specify the following details to create a department hierarchy.
Organization Structure Unit |
The organization unit in which the organization structure component is deployed |
Hierarchy Code |
A unique code to identify the department hierarchy. |
Hierarchy Short Description |
A short description of the hierarchy. For example, if you are creating a hierarchy for the different departments in manufacturing, you can specify the short description for the department hierarchy as “Dept. Hierarchy-Manufacturing”. |
Hierarchy Long Description |
A more elaborate description of the department hierarchy. For example, if the short description entered is “Dept. Hierarchy-Manufacturing”, you can specify the long description as “Department Hierarchy with regard to manufacturing unit 1”. |
Primary |
Indicate whether the department hierarchy is primary or otherwise. Select the check box only if the department hierarchy is primary. Apex Department The department at the top of the department hierarchy. From the drop-down list box, select the required value. |
Effective From |
The date from which the department hierarchy should take effect. |
Select the “Save” pushbutton to save the details entered.
