•  Select the  “Department-Competency Mapping” hyperlink in the “Create Department” page.

• The  “Department-Competency Mapping” page appears.

• The system displays the following details at the top of the page.

Date Format	The date format that is applicable to the login user. More Details
Organization Structure Unit	The organization unit in which the organization structure component is deployed. Tell me more
Department Code	The unique code of the department to which you want to map the required competencies.
Department Description	The description of the department for which you are mapping the required competencies.

The system displays in the Employment Org. Units multiline, the employment units to which the department is mapped. You can view the code and description of the employment units. You can select the required employment units to which the department is mapped, to specify the competencies. To proceed,

• Click inside the “Select” column corresponding to the required employment unit in the  “Employment Org. Units” multiline.

• Select the “Get Competencies” pushbutton to the bottom right of the multiline.

• The system displays in the “Competencies” multiline, the organization level competencies inherited by the department. You can specify new competencies or delete existing ones. You can access the help page to specify the competencies.

• Select the “Save Department Competency Mapping” pushbutton at the bottom of the page after specifying the competencies.

• The system displays the specified competencies in the “Competencies Defined” column of the “Employment Org. Units” multiline.

Note: The system displays the following details in the corresponding columns of the “Employment Org. Units” multiline.

Employment Unit Code	The unique code of the employment unit.
Employment Unit Description	The unique description of the employment unit.
Competencies Defined	The competencies you specified for the selected department-employment unit combination. The system displays the specified competencies in this column, when you select the “Save Department Competency Mapping” pushbutton at the bottom of the page.

Note: The system displays the following details in the corresponding columns of the “Competencies” multiline.

Competency Code	The unique code of the organizational level competency inherited by the employment unit selected in the “Employment Org. Units” multiline.
Competency Description	The description of the corresponding competency.
