Viewing the employee’s leave summary

Ensure that the leave application details of the employee are selected, in the previous page.
Select the “View Leave Summary” link at the bottom of the page.
The “View Leave Summary” page appears.
The system displays the following.
Date Format |
The date format applicable to the login user. |
Employee |
The employee code and name of the employee selected in the previous page. |
The system displays the following in the multiline.
Leave Type |
Each leave type applicable to the employee. In other words, each leave type to which the employee was mapped through the Leave Definition component. For example, the selected leave type can be privilege leave, casual leave or sick leave |
Units |
The leave units in days or hours. |
Period From |
The start date of the leave calendar for which the summary is being displayed, for the leave type. In case the employee joins the organization in the middle of the leave calendar, the "Period From" date will be the joining date of the employee. |
Period To |
The end date of the leave calendar for which the summary is being displayed, for the leave type. |
Balance Units |
The total number of leave units to which the employee is entitled, which he has not yet availed, during the leave calendar period. Balance Units = Entitlement Units + Carry Over Units - Authorized Taken Units ( + or - ) Adjustments |
Entitlement Units |
The total number of leave units to which the employee is entitled, for the selected leave calendar The total number of leave entitlement units of an employee vary from organization to organization, depending on the employee’s level, grade, etc. |
Adjusted Entitled Units |
The total number of entitled leave units of an employee that has been adjusted. |
Carry Over Units |
The number of leave balance of the employee that can be carried over to the next time period. |
Adjusted Carry Over Units |
The total number of carry over leave balance units that has been adjusted. |
Taken Units |
The total number of leave units that have been availed by an employee. |
Adjusted Taken Units |
The number of leave units adjusted for “availment” leave function. Example: An employee has availed 10 days leave. Later the number of days of leave has been changed to 6 days. In this case, the adjusted availed units will be 6 days. |
Encashment Units |
The total number of leave balance units that have not been availed, but encashed by the employee. |
Adjusted Encashed Units |
The total balance encashed leave units that can be adjusted. |
Forfeited Units |
The number of leave units that are lost by an employee due to organization’s, business policy. Example: In the year 2001, the employee’s
The employee has availed 10 days in 2001, and therefore has 14 days balance. However, the organization’s business policy states that only 10 days can be carried over. Therefore he is loosing the balance 4 days which is the employee’s forfeited leave units |

Use this page to view the summary of leave for the employee who has applied for leave.
Through the “View Leave Summary” page, you can view the comprehensive history of every leave type to which the employee is entitled. It starts with specifying the leave type and the unit in which the leave type is maintained, and goes on to provide the following
The number of leave units to which the employee is entitled
The number of leave units that the employee has availed
The number of leave units accumulated / earned by the employee at the completion of a given number of weeks
Note: Although the employee is entitled to a specified number of leave units at the beginning of the year, he progressively earns them at the completion of every few weeks.
The number of adjusted entitlement and adjusted availed units.
This page also provides the total balance of leave units that the employee can currently avail, after all these factors are taken into account
