Prerequisites

What you can do in this activity

Through this activity, you can either abort or reset the processing of leave carry over of employee records applicable to a specified Session ID. The processing of these employee records must have been initiated in the “Process Leave Carry over - Non - Calendar - Based” activity.

Retrieving the batch of records to abort or reset: To retrieve the processed employee records under a session ID, you are to specify the following two filters

Aborting the processing of leave carry over: By aborting, you stop processing of employee records after it has been initiated. Normally, you abort a process when you don’t anticipate the output to be as desired. For example, after initiating a leave carry over process, you find that certain entries have not been recorded. In such instances, you abort the process, incorporate the necessary changes and again initialize the process. Initializing the process is referred to as resetting it.

The status of the processing will be updated to “Aborted”.

Resetting the processing of the leave carry over: Resetting a leave carry over process means that you have readied the aborted employee records for processing.

The status of the processing will be updated to “Reset”.

Viewing the error log: When you process a set of employee records, the system checks whether the required conditions are met.  If it identifies any conditions that are not met, it records them as errors and displays them.  You can view these errors and rectify them before proceeding. You can also record comments, remarks or opinions.

Viewing the leave carry over: At any time, you can view the carry over of employees mapped to the non-calendar based leave type. This information is available through the “View Leave Carry Over” page.

For example, the maximum leave units allowed for carry over to the next period is 160. The employee already has 150 leave units in his leave balance, before carry over. After entitlement, another 20 leave units are added to his balance. After carry over processing for the next period is carried out, the employee will have 160 leave units in his leave balance. 10 leave units are forfeited, in order to maintain the maximum leave units allowed.
