Prerequisites

What you can do in this activity

Through this activity, you can request the system to process the leave units that a batch of employees can carry over to the next leave calendar. Carry over refers to the total balance of leave units of the employee during a calendar year, which can be carried over to the next leave calendar. Through this activity, you can process the leave units of those leave types mapped to a specific leave calendar.

Note that although each employee is eligible to carry over a specific number of leave units of certain leave types, they are not actually carried over until the batch processing in this activity takes place.

Note: Ensure that the next calendar is defined before the carry over processing is carried out. Also, ensure that all the required leave types and grade sets are mapped to this leave calendar.

Leave Calendar Code: You are to first choose the organization unit. Next, you are to choose a leave calendar code, to request the system to retrieve all the leave types mapped to this leave calendar. After the leave types are retrieved, you can select some or all of the leave types, to request the batch processing for the employees mapped to these leave types.

Session ID: After you selected the leave types, the system checks whether all the prerequisite conditions required for carry over processing are satisfied. If they are satisfied, the system generates a Session ID. The generation of the session ID indicates that the employee records are ready for the processing of the selected leave types.

The session ID uniquely identifies the leave type processing that a system carries out on a set of records This unique ID is necessary when more than one instance of leave type processing is being carried out simultaneously. The system will now carry out processing.

Processing: During processing, the system executes the following:

Status: The status of the processing will be set to “Initiated”.
