Selecting the leave type to view

Select the “View Leave” link under the “Leave Definition” component.
The “Select Leave Type to View” page appears.
From the “Leave Definition Unit” drop-down list box, select the organization unit for which you require to view leave types.
To select through Direct Entry
Use this method if you know the complete leave type code
Enter the code of the leave type whose details you require to view, in the “Leave Type Code” field under “Direct Entry”.
Select the “View Leave Type” link.
The “View Leave Type” page appears, where you can view the attributes of the leave type.
To select through Search Criteria
Use this method, if you know just a few characters of the employee code or the leave type code.
Enter the following search criteria values, in one or both of the following fields.

Leave Type Code |
To view all leave type codes containing a given set of characters, type in these characters. For example, if you type in “LV1”, all leave type codes containing “LV1” will be displayed. |

Leave Type Short Description |
To retrieve all leave type descriptions containing specific characters, type in these characters. For example, type in “privilege”, to view all leave descriptions containing the text “privilege”. |
Select the “ Search” pushbutton.
Note: If only one search criteria value is entered, the system will fetch the records that satisfy this value. If more than one search criteria value is entered, the system will fetch the records satisfying all the specified values. If you do not enter any value in the search criteria group box and select the “Search” pushbutton, the system will fetch all the records that are applicable to the selected leave definition unit.
The system displays the following details in the multiline, for the leave type records that satisfy the search criteria specified.

Leave Type Code |
The unique code that identifies each leave type. |
|
Leave Type Short Description |
The short description of the leave type. |
|
Units |
The leave units in which the leave type is maintained; it could either “Hours” or “Days”. |
From the multiline, select the leave type to view, by selecting the hyperlinked “Leave Type Short Description” field.
The “View Leave Type” page appears, where you can view the attributes of the leave type.
