Select the “Maintain Leave Eligibility” link in the "Edit Leave Type” page, or
Select the “Maintain Leave Eligibility” link in the "View Leave Type” page.
Note: You can only view the details of the page if the screen is launched from the "View Leave Type" activity. Likewise the history of modifications is applicable only if the screen is launched from the "Edit Leave Type" activity.
The “Maintain Leave Eligibility” page appears.
The system displays the following.
Date Format |
The date format applicable to the login user. |
Enter the following
Leave Definition Unit |
From the “Leave Definition Unit” drop-down list box, select the organization unit for which you require to maintain leave eligibility. |
Leave Type |
From the drop-down list box, select the leave type. |
Leave Scheme |
From the drop-down list box, select the leave scheme. Note that, leave schemes are mapped to the employee in “Employment Information” component. |
To record the parameters for the leave eligibility values
Enter the following in the multiline.
Note that, you can enter “*”(asterisk) in the fields; “Department”, “Grade set”, “Grade, “Position”, and “Job”; this implies that the leave eligibility value is applicable to all the departments, grade sets, grades and positions if * (asterisk) is entered in the respective fields.

Shift Grp Desc |
From the drop-down list box, select the shift group for which you intend to define the leave eligibility values. Example 12 Hour Shift Group. |
Service Type |
From the drop-down list box, select the unit of service type as any one of the following.

Service From |
The numerical value of the service period for which the leave eligibility values defined are applicable. |
Service To |
The numerical value of the service period until which the leave eligibility values defined are applicable. |
Eligibility Units |
The number of eligibility units of leave entitled for the specified parameters of the leave type and leave scheme. |
Duration |
From the drop-down list box select the duration of the leave eligibility as “Days” or “Hours”. |
Encashment Capping |
The maximum number of leave units, which can be encashed. |
Encashment Block |
The number of leave units in each block to encash leave. For example an encashment can only be in multiples of 5 units if you enter “5” in the encashment block. |
Minimum Encashable Units |
The minimum number of leave units required before employee can encash the leave. |
Carry Over Capping |
The number of balance leave units that can be carried over to the next year. |
Years of Balance to Carry Over |
The maximum number of years of leave balance that can be carried over to next year. |
Remarks |
The remarks pertaining to the leave eligibility defined for the specific leave type and leave scheme. |
To indicate whether a history of the modifications must be maintained
Enter the following.
Modification Option |
Select “Correct” or “Update” from the drop-down list box.

New Effective From |
If the modification option you chose is “Update”, specify the date from which the current modification will be in effect. The system maintains the “Effective To Date” of the previous record to be one day less than the “New Effective From” date. |
Select the “Previous” pushbutton beside the “Access Data History” label, to view the previous changes, if any, made to the selected leave type and leave scheme.
If no previous record exists, the system will display the current record.
Select the “Next” pushbutton beside the “Access Data History” label, to view the next change of the eligibility details for the leave type and scheme.
Select the “Save” pushbutton.
To edit the parameters of the leave eligibility values
From the drop-down list box, select the leave definition unit, leave type and leave scheme.
The system displays the values for the leave eligibility in the multiline.
Edit the required parameters of the eligibility values in the multiline.
Select the “Save” pushbutton.
To delete the parameters of the leave eligibility values
From the drop-down list box, select the leave definition unit, leave type and leave scheme.
The system displays the parameters for the leave eligibility value in the multiline.
Select the checkbox corresponding to the eligibility values that you wish to delete.
Select the “Delete” pushbutton.
The entire history of the leave eligibility defined for a specific combination of leave type and leave scheme are deleted.
