Maintain FMLA Leave Parameters
Select the “Maintain FMLA Leave Parameters” activity under the “Leave Definition” business component.
The “Maintain FMLA Leave Parameters” page appears.
Select the following details at the top of the page.
Leave Definition Unit |
The organization unit where the leave administration component has been deployed to administer leave for all the employees mapped to the interacting employment units. |
FMLA Leave Type |
The FMLA leave type for which the parameter details has to be set. From the drop-down list box, select the required value. |
Applicable To |
The state/district to which the FMLA leave parameter is applicable. From the drop-down list box, select the required value. |
Calendar Basis |
Use the drop-down list box to select the calendar basis for the selected FMLA leave type. The combo is loaded with “Calendar Year”, “Employee DOJ based Year”, “First FMLA application based year”, “Leave Year” and “Rolling Year”. The system displays “Select” by default on launch of the page. |
Enter the following details in the “Eligibility and Entitlement” group box:
Minimum Service With Current Employer |
Indicates the employee’s minimum service period with the current employer to avail the leave eligibility. The combo is loaded with “Hours”, “Months” and “Weeks”. The system displays “Select” by default on launch of the page. |
Break in Service Allowed |
Use the drop-down list box to select “Yes”, if the employer is allowed to break the service in between. If not allowed, select “No”. The system displays “Select” by default on launch of the page. |
Period for Service Hours Calculation |
Indicates the period required for calculating the service hours. |
Minimum Hours Of Service |
The minimal number of hours required for the service to avail the leave eligibility. |
Average Hours of Service Per Week |
Per week, average hours of the service required to avail the leave eligibility. |
Enter the following details in the “Entitlement” group box:
Units Of Entitlement |
Number of leave units entitled for the leave type. |
Entitlement Validity in Months |
The validity period of the entitle units in terms of month. |
Enter the following details in the “Posting Rules” group box:
Minimum Units |
Indicates the minimum number of leave units. From the drop-down list box, select the required value. |
Maximum Units |
Indicates the maximum number of leave units. From the drop-down list box, select the required value. |
Maximum Units for Which Holidays are Excluded |
The maximum number of leave units for which the holidays are to be excluded. From the drop-down list box, select the required value. |
Select the following from the “Paid Time Offs Substitution” group box:
Usage of Paid Time Off leaves |
Use the drop-down list box to select the mode for usage of paid time off leaves. The combo is loaded with “Disallow”, “Employees Choice” and “Mandatory”. The system displays “Select” by default on launch of the page. |
The system displays the following details in the “Map Applicable Paid Time Off Leave Types” multiline.
Paid Time Off Leave Type |
Indicates the paid time off leave type for which you wish to map the parameters. |
Select the following from the “Map Applicable Paid Time Off Leave Types” multiline:
Mapping |
Use the drop-down list box to select “Yes”, if you wish to map the paid time off leave type and “No” if you wish not to map the details. |
The system displays the following details in the “Concurrency Parameters” multiline.
Leave Type |
Indicates the leave type of the concurrency parameters. |
Select the following from the “Concurrency Parameters” multiline:
Allow Concurrent Application |
Use the drop-down list box to select “Yes” if you wish to allow the particular leave type for the concurrent application. |
Authorization Priority |
Indicates the sequence for authorizing the leave type of concurrent parameter. |
The system displays the following details in the “Map Leave Reasons And Treatment For Couples” multiline.
Leave Reason |
Indicates the leave reason for which you wish to map the parameters. |
Mapping |
Use the drop-down list box to select “Yes”, if you wish to map the leave reason for the selected leave type. |
For Couples |
Use the drop-down list box to select “Consider Combined Eligibility” if you wish to combine the eligibility or “Consider Separate Eligibility” if you wish to consider the eligibility separately. |
Select the following details from the “Notification Parameters” multiline.
Stage |
Use the drop-down list box to select the stage at which the notification has to be raised. The combo is loaded with “FMLA Application” and “Pre FMLA Application”. The system displays “Select” default on launch of the page. |
Item |
Use the drop-down list box to select the item for which the notification has to be raised. The combo is loaded with “Advance Notification for FMLA”, “Employee Eligibility and Rights”, “FMLA Request Form”, “SDI Request Form”, “Filled in Forms” and “Approved Forms”. The system displays “Select” by default on launch of the page. |
Responsibility |
Use the drop-down list box to select the responsibility to whom the notification has to raised. The combo is loaded with “Employee” and “Employer”. The system displays “Select” by default on launch of the page. |
Working Days Limit |
Indicates the working days limit for raising the notification. |
Priority |
The priority sequence for raising the notification. |
Click the “Save” pushbutton to save the details.
