The “Record Leave Group” page appears.

The system displays the following:

Leave Definition Unit

The name of the organization unit in which the leave group will become applicable.

Leave Type Code

The type of leave from the “Create Leave Type” page

Leave Type Short Description

The short description for the leave type.

Units

The unit in which the leave type will be maintained, such as “day” or “hour”.

Leave Type

Each leave type to be mapped to the leave type displayed in the “Leave Type Code” field in the header.

The leave types in the multiline are referred to as child leave types. The leave type whose code is displayed in the “Leave Type Code” field in the header is referred to as the parent leave type.

Map

From the drop-down list box, select “Yes” to map this leave type to the parent leave type.

Page Overview

Through this page, you can map multiple child leave types to the leave type defined in the “Create Leave Type” page.

Implication: When you adjust the parent leave type, through the “Adjust Leave” activity in the Leave Administration component, the adjustments are inherited by each of the child leave types.

For example, the parent leave type is called “Medical Leave”, while the child leave types could be “Hospitalization” and “Sick Leave”. If you adjust “Medical Leave” for an employee by reducing 1 leave unit from it, 1 leave unit each is automatically subtracted from “Hospitalization” and “Sick Leave”..
