Setting carry over units for grade – level

Select the “Create Leave Type” link from the left pane.
The “Create Leave Type” page appears.
Select the “Set Carry Over Units for Grade – Level" link to enter the “Set Carry Over Units for Grade – Level" page.
The system displays the following fields from the “Create Leave Type” page.
Date Format |
The date format applicable to the login user. |
Leave Definition Unit |
The name of the leave definition unit to which the leave type will be applicable |
Leave Type |
The unique code of the type of leave. |
Enter the following in the multiline.
Grade Code |
The code that identifies the specific grade for which you require to define carry-over units Help Available. |
Level Code |
The code that identifies the specific level for which you require to define carry-over units |
Service Month From |
The number of months of service from which the leave carry-over units will become applicable to the employees under the specific grade - level combination. For example, if the carry-over units are applicable for employees whose service ranges from 12 months until 16 months, enter 12 in this field. |
Service Month To |
The number of months of service until which the leave carry-over units will become applicable to the employees under the specific grade - level combination. For example, if the carry-over units are applicable for employees whose service ranges from 12 months until 16 months, enter 16 in this field. |
Maximum Carry Over Units |
The maximum number of leave units that the employees under the specific grade - level combination can carry over, into the next calendar or periodicity. |
Check the “Select” box contained in each grade – level combination in the multiline, to select this record.
Select the “Save” pushbutton, after selecting all the required records.
The system displays the following
Grade Description |
The description of the grade. If you had selected the grade code through the help icon, this information is retrieved before the “Save” pushbutton is selected. |
Level Description |
The description of the level. |
Select the “Posting units for Grade - Level" link from the “Create Leave Type page.

Use this page to define the maximum number of carry over units allowed for each grade – level combination.
You can specify the maximum number of leave units that the employees under each grade – level combination can carry over to the next calendar or periodicity.
You are to also specify the range of months for which the employees must have worked, for this carry-over to become applicable.
