Viewing a tax year

Select “View Tax Year” hyperlink from the left pane.

The “View Tax Year“ page appears. The system displays the following.

Tax Setup Unit	The name of the tax setup unit in which the tax setup is deployed. Tell me more
Date Format	The date format applicable to the login user. Tell me more

Note: The system also displays details of all the tax years created in the multiline. These details are described further down.

To specify search criteria

Use this method, if you know just a few characters of the tax year code or tax year description. In the search criteria group box, specify the search criteria based on which the system will fetch the records. To specify the search criteria, you must enter one or more characters that the tax year code or description contains. Optionally, you can enter the “From Date” and “TO Date” fields, to narrow your search. Search based on wild card characters is also supported.

Enter the following search criteria values, in some or all of the following fields.

Tax Year Code	The unique code of the tax year containing specific character type in the starting character or characters of this tax year code
	Alternatively, type in these characters in any combination with wild cards. Example, TYC1, will search for those tax year codes that start with TYC1. Other examples are TYC1, TYC1, TYC1 and TYC1*.
Tax Year short Description	To view all tax year short descriptions containing specific characters, type in the starting character or characters of the tax year short description.
	Alternatively, type in these characters in any combination with wild cards. Example, TYSC1, will search for those tax year codes that start with TYSC1. Other examples are TYSC1, TYC1, TYSC1 and TYSC1*.
Tax Year Long Description	The full description of the tax year.
	For example, if you have identified the tax code as “Tyr002”, you can enter “TxYr.” as the short description and “Tax year” as the long description
From Date	The probable start date of the tax year. For example if you enter the search parameter as 30.01.01, the system will fetch the records that start from 30.01.01. Alternatively, type in these characters in any combination with wild cards.
To Date	The probable end date of the tax year.

Select the “ Search” pushbutton.

The list of records satisfying the search criteria is displayed in the multiline.

Note: If the search criteria are entered in more than one field, the system will fetch only those records that satisfy the combination of the search criteria specified.
If you do not enter the search criteria, and select the “Search” pushbutton, the system will fetch all the records that are applicable to the selected tax setup unit.

The system displays the following details in the multiline.

Tax Year Code	The unique code that identifies the tax year.
Tax Year Short Description	The short description of the tax year.
Tax Year Long Description	The long description of the tax year.
From Date	The date from which the tax year is effective.
To Date	The date until which the tax year is effective.
Status	The system will display one of the two values viz. “Yes” or “NO”. “Yes” indicates that the tax year is inactive and is not available for use. “NO” indicates that the tax year is active and indicates that it is available for use.
