Recording Tax Declaration
Select the “Record Tax Declaration” link from the left pane.
The “Record Tax Declaration” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Employee Code |
The unique code of the logged in employee. |
Employee Name |
The name of the logged in employee. |
Date |
The system displays the current date. |
Company |
The name of the company. |
Date Format |
The date format that is applicable to the login user. |
The system displays the instructions for recording tax declaration in the “Instructions” group box.
Enter the following:
Tax Year |
From the drop-down list box, select the tax year for which you require to record/view the tax declarations. |
Status |
From the drop-down list box, select any one of the following statuses:

Permanent Account Number (PAN) |
The Permanent Account Number (PAN) of the employee. If you do not have a PAN Number, you must enter “PANNOTAVBL”. |
The system displays the four tabs namely, “Rent and Children Education Details”, “Income/(Loss) from House Property and Other Income”, “Deductions Under Chapter Vi A”, “View and Confirm” in the “Section Wise Details” group box:
Rent and Children Education Details
Select the “Rent and Children Education Details” tab in the “Record Tax Declaration” screen.
The system displays the following in the “Rent Details” multiline.
Enter the following in Rent Details group box:
City |
From the drop-down list box, select the city where the employee is residing. |
Amount |
The standard amount of rent that will be paid by the employee for a month. |
Select the “Default” pushbutton.
The system defaults the amount for all the months in the “Amount” field of the “Monthly Rent Details” multiline.
The system displays the following in the “Monthly Rent Details” multiline:
Month |
The month in the financial calendar (April to March). |
Enter the following:
City |
From the drop-down list box, select the city in which the employee is residing. |
Amount |
The amount of rent the employee is likely to pay for the month. |
Enter the following in the “Children Educational Details” group box:
No. of Children for Education Allowance |
The number of children to avail educational allowance. |
No. of Children for Hostel Allowance |
The number of children to avail hostel allowance. |
Select the “Save As Draft” pushbutton.
The system updates the status to “Draft”.
The system updates the following below the “Monthly Rent Details” multiline:
Total |
The system displays the total rent amount declared by the employee for the tax year. |
Income/(Loss) from House Property and Other Income
Select the “Income/ (Loss) from House Property and Other Income” tab in the “Record Tax Declaration” screen.
Enter the following in the “Income/(Loss) from House Property and Other Income” multiline:
Source of Income |
The source of income/loss. |
Amount |
The amount of income/loss against the source of income/loss. |
The system displays the following in the “Deductions Under Chapter Vi A” multiline:
Employee PF Contribution |
The amount of provident fund to be contributed by the employee is retrieved from the Payroll business process. |
Employee VPF Contribution |
The amount of VPF to be contributed by the employee is retrieved from the Payroll business process. |
The system displays the following in the Investment Details” multiline:
Sec 80 Items |
The system displays the Section 80 items, such as Mediclaim, Public Provident Fund, Contribution to Certain Pension Funds, LIC Policy and Term Deposit for 5 years or more with a Scheduled bank. |
Enter the following in the “Investment Details” multiline:
Amount |
The amount of the investment against the corresponding section 80 item. |
Select the “Save As Draft” pushbutton.
The system updates the status to “Draft”.
The system updates the following below the “Investment Details” multiline:
Total Section 80C |
The total investment on Section 80 C will appear below the “Investment Details” multiline. |
Total Section 80 D |
The total investment on Section 80 D will appear below the “Investment Details” multiline. |
Select the “View and Confirm” tab in the “Record Tax Declaration” screen.
The system displays the following in the “Summary” multiline:
Tax Item |
The system displays the tax item for which the employee has entered the declarations. |
Total Amount Declared |
The total amount declared by the employee against the tax item. |
The system updates the following below the “Summary” multiline:
Total Section 80C |
The total investment on Section 80 C will appear below the “Investment Details” multiline. |
Total Section 80 D |
The total investment on Section 80 D will appear below the “Investment Details” multiline. |
Select the checkbox to acknowledge/ certify the investment declaration of the logged in employee for the financial year.
Select the “Submit” pushbutton.
The system updates the status to “Submitted”
Note: The logged in employee can update the tax declarations, if required.
