Section 10 Exemption Entry

Select “Section 10 Exemption Entry” hyperlink from the left pane.
The “Section 10 Exemption Entry” page appears.
The system displays the following.
Date format |
The date format as applicable to the login user. |
Enter the following details.
Employee Tax Data Unit |
Select the employee tax data unit from the drop-down list box, for which the employee tax details must be recorded. By default, the system displays with “Select” Value. |
Employment Unit |
From the drop-down list box, select the employment unit for which the employee tax details must be recorded. By default, it displays with “Select” value. |
Tax Year |
By default, the system displays the current tax year. From the drop-down list box select the tax year for which employee tax details must be specified. The drop-down list box lists all the tax years defined in the “Create Tax Year” activity. |

Current tax year indicates the year in which the system date lie within the start and end date of the tax year. If such tax year is not defined, the system will default “Select” value. |
Select the “Get” pushbutton.
The system displays details for the following items.
Items |
The following are the items for which the tax details of an employee can be recorded.

For each of the item the following details are displayed. |

Records Declared |
The total number of records that are declared by the employees for an item. A declaration is a statement, given by the employee requesting the employer not to deduct taxes as he/she plans to invest money in different securities for the tax year that would yield tax exemptions. The securities can be bonds, saving certificates, etc. Later, the employee submits proofs indicating that he /she has invested money as declared. |
Records Authorized |
The total number of records that are authorized for the respective item. |
Records Rejected |
The total number of records that are rejected for an item. |
To view tax information of an employee
Enter the employee code in the “Employee Code” field whose details are to be viewed.
Select the “Get” pushbutton.
The system displays the following details for the selected tax year.
The name of the employee in the “Employee Name” field
The number of records that have been declared by the employee for each item
The number of records that are authorized for each respective item
The number of records that are authorized for each respective item
Select the tax item for which tax details must be recorded in the "Items" column.
The respective page is launched.
