Requesting for Hire: Through this activity, a supervisor, his/her representative or a HR user, having the necessary data level security permissions can submit a request for hiring qualified and competent employees to positions, jobs or departments for which vacancies exist in the organization. Also, this activity can be used to specify the percentage of vacancies that can be allocated to each category like ex-service Personnel, handicapped people etc.
To submit a request for hire, you are to specify the following details:
The details pertaining to the hire request.
The details pertaining to the position, job or department for which the hire request is being submitted.
The details of the qualifications required for the position or job for which the hire request is being submitted.
The competencies required for the position, department or job for which the hire request is being submitted.
Number of people required and by what date they are required are also entered.
Request for Hire Details: In an organizational context, the recruiter, to whom the request for hire is submitted to act upon, should have the complete information with regard to the vacancies for which the hire request is being made as well as the details of the hire request. The details pertaining to the hire request consist of the employment unit at which the vacancy exists, the name of the location for which people are recruited, the reason for hiring, the date on which the request has been made and the date by which the requirement for hire is to be addressed. The hire details also comprise the employee type to indicate if the requirement is for regular or contract employees or trainees etc., as well as the number of employees to be recruited. Also, you can specify the code of the recruiter to whom the request is being submitted, the description for the job as it should be mentioned in the job postings and any other requirements that need to be mentioned.
Information on Vacancies: The information you are to provide the recruiter, helps in identifying and recruiting well-qualified and competent individuals. This information consists of two aspects viz., the details pertaining to the position or job for which the hire request is being made and the details pertaining to the qualifications and competencies required for the position or job.
Specifying position & job details: The job and position details provide the recruiter with information regarding the position or job for which the request is submitted, the department to which the position or job belongs, the relevant years of work experience required, the medical check requirements for the job and the details with regard to the nature of the job. The nature of the job indicates if the job involves traveling, the industry type or sector viz., engineering, pharmaceutical etc., to which it pertains to, whether it is a full time or part time job etc. Also whether the job is tipped or not. This information helps the recruiter in identifying the right individuals for the job as well as in conveying the required information about the vacancies to prospective applicants.
The information you are to provide to the recruiter with regard to the qualifications and competencies required for the job facilitate identifying the right individuals among the applicants.
Specifying qualification details: The qualification details you are to provide consist of the unique code of the qualification and the description of the qualification. Also, you can provide two additional or alternative qualifications. For example, if the request for hire pertains to the post of Manager HR, you can specify the primary qualification as MBA and specify the alternate qualification as a Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management. Also, you can enter remarks with regard to the specified qualifications.
Specifying competency details: The competency details consist of the unique codes of the competencies required for the job, the description of the competency and the minimum extent to which the competency must be present in the individual being hired for the job.
Editing Vacancy Allocation: The vacancy allocation feature helps you to specify the percentage of vacancies to be allotted to each category like ex-service personnel, handicapped category etc. Based on the percentage specified for each category, the system computes and displays the exact number of vacancies for each category.
