Recording employee career plan
Select the “Employee Career Plan” hyperlink from the “Select Employee for Career Plan” page.
The “Employee Career Plan” page appears.
The system displays the following
Date Format |
The date format applicable to the login user. Tell me more. |
Career Planning Unit |
The employee’s career planning unit selected in the previous page. |
Employment Unit |
The employment unit selected in the previous page. |
Employee |
The employee code and name from the previous page. |
Job Title |
The title of the employee’s job from the previous page. |
Department |
The employee’s department from the previous page. |
Position Title |
The position title of the employee from previous page. |
Grade Set |
The grade set from the previous page. |
Grade |
The employee’s grade from the previous page. |
Edit the following
Fast Tracker |
Check this box, if the employee must be identified as a fast tracker. |
Show Plan to Employee |
Check this box if the career plan can be shown to the employee. |
Note: The employee will be able to view the career plan only if the “Show Plan to Employee” checkbox is checked in the “Employee Career Plan” page.
To add a new career plan for the employee
From the “Basis of Career Plan” drop-down list box, select “New Track”.
Select the “Get Details” pushbutton.
The system displays blank fields in the “Career Plan” multiline.
Enter the details of each successive job of which the career path must consist, in the “Career Plan” multiline. Note that every job must be entered in the sequence in which it is intended to occur in the career path.
Select the “Save” pushbutton.
To create the employee’s career plan from a career track
From the “Basis of Career Plan” drop-down list box, select one of the serial numbers. Each serial number represents an existing career track. Tell me more.
Select the “Get Details” pushbutton, to retrieve the details of the career track you selected.
The system displays the following fields of the career track: “Sequence No.”, “Unit Structure Setup”, “Job Code” and “Job Title”. The system retrieves these career tracks from the Career Planning Setup component, where one or more career tracks are defined already for a specific job.
Enter or edit the following details in the “Career Plan” multiline, to create the employee’s career plan.
Sequence No. |
The sequence number of the job, according to the required order in the employee’s career plan. |
Unit Structure Setup |
The organization unit setup where this job will be applicable, for the employee. |
Job Code |
The code of each job in the employee’s career plan |
Job Title |
The title of this job. This field cannot be edited. |
Department Code |
The code of the department that will pertain to the job you selected in the career path |
Department Desc |
The description of the department. This field cannot be edited. |
Position Code |
The code of the position, that will pertain to the job you selected in the career path. |
Position Title |
The title of the position pertaining to the job. |
Work Location Code |
The code of the work location where the employee will work, while holding the job |
Work Location Short Description |
The description of the work location. |
Planned Date From |
The date from which the job will be effective |
Planned Date To |
The date until which the job will be effective |
Select the “Save” pushbutton at the bottom of the page, to save the career plan you created.
Note: Only a single career plan can be created for the employee.
To create the employee’s career plan from his or her career aspirations
From the “Basis of Career Plan” drop-down list box, select “Employee Aspirations”.
Select the “Get Details” pushbutton.
The system displays the details of the employee’s aspired career plan, in the “Career Plan” multiline. Edit the details, if required.
Select the “Save” pushbutton at the bottom of the page, to save the career plan you created.
To define an employee’s strengths and weaknesses
Edit the following in the “Employee Specific Details” multiline
Strengths |
A description of the employee’s strengths. |
Development Areas |
A description of the areas in which the employee requires to improve |
Comments |
Any other comments that will provide insight into the employee’s professional capabilities. |
Select the “Save” pushbutton at the bottom of the page.
To delete the employee’s career plan
From the “Basis of Career Plan” drop-down list box, select the serial number that represents the career track to be deleted.
Select the “Get Details” pushbutton, to retrieve the details of this career plan.
The “Career Plan” multiline displays all the details of this career plan.
Select the “Delete” pushbutton at the bottom of the page.
To retrieve and edit the employee’s career plan
Select the employee, using the “Select Employee for Career Plan” page.
The “Employee Career Plan” page displays the most recently saved details of the employee’s career plan.
Edit these details, if required.
Select the “Save” pushbutton, to save the changes.
In the “Career Plan” multiline, check the “Select” box beside the job for which you require to monitor the employee’s career fitment.
Select the “Monitor Career Fitment” hyperlink at the bottom of the page.
