Performing the employee appraisal
Ensure that you have selected the employee whose performance appraisal is to be carried out, in the “Select Employee to Perform Appraisal” page.
Select the “Perform Employee Appraisal” link from the “Select Employee to Perform Appraisal” page.
The “Perform Employee Appraisal” page appears.
The system displays the following fields:
Date format |
The date format that is applicable to the login user. |
Employment Unit |
The employment unit to which the employee belongs |
Employee |
The employee code and name of the employee. |
Assignment No. |
The assignment number of the employee. |
Joining Date |
The date of joining of the employee. |
Confirmation Date |
The date on which the employee was confirmed. |
Appraisal Type
|
The appraisal type of the employee. It can be one of the following:

Appraisal Calendar Code |
The code of the appraisal calendar in which the appraisal falls. |
Calendar Short Description |
A short description of the appraisal calendar. |
Appraiser’s Employment Unit |
The employment unit of the appraiser. |
Appraiser |
The name of the appraiser. |
Period From |
The date from which the appraiser is mapped to the appraisee. |
Period To |
The date until which the appraiser is mapped to the appraisee. |
Countersigning Officer |
The employee code and name of the countersigning officer. |
Employee Appraisal Status |
The appraisal status of the employee’s performance appraisal. The status can be one of the following:

To enter performance evaluation details
The system displays the following in the “Performance evaluation” multiline
Objective Description |
A brief description of each objective. Tell me more. |
Objective Detailed Description |
A detailed description of the objective. |
Self Rating |
The employee’s rating of the objective carried out through self-appraisal. |
Note: If the employee has carried out self-appraisal already, these values will be displayed in the “Performance Evaluation” multiline. Tell me more.

Self Rating |
The employee’s rating of the assignment, carried out through self-appraisal. |
Enter the following in the “Other Duties/Projects Undertaken” multiline fields.
Assignments Undertaken |
Each assignment undertaken by the employee, which is required to be appraised for the period of the appraisal calendar. This is to be entered as free text. |
Desired Outcomes/Targets |
The desired outcomes/targets expected of the employee, for the assignment. This is to be entered as free text. |
Achievement |
The achievement of the employee, for the assignment. |
Appraiser Assessment/Comments |
The assessment/comments for this assignment, as free text. |
Weightage |
A number to indicate the weightage you want to assign to the project/other duty, with respect to the other objectives listed in the multiline. See example below |
Rate Grade |
Enter the rate grade, to indicate the performance of the employee for this project/other duty Help Available |
To compute the weightages for objectives and projects
Select the “Compute Objective Weightage in %” pushbutton, after you have completed entering the weightages in both the “Performance Evaluation” and “Other Duties/Projects Undertaken” multilines.
Both multilines display the following, for each objective and for each assignment
To compute the overall appraisal rating
Select the ”Compute Overall Appraisal Rating” pushbutton to compute the overall appraisal rating.
The system displays the following

The overall rating for the employee, by the appraiser. |
Overall Appraiser Rating Grade |
The overall rating grade for the employee, by the appraiser. |
To enter strengths/areas of improvement/specific achievements
Enter the following
Strengths |
The strengths of the appraisee. This is to be entered as free text. |
Area(s) of Improvement |
The areas to be improved. This is to be entered as free text. |
Specific Achievements |
The specific achievements of the appraise. This is to be entered as free text. |
To save without completing the performance evaluation details
Ensure that you have entered details in at least one field.
Select the “Save” pushbutton
The system saves the unfinished details. At any time before the “Valid Upto” date of the appraisal calendar, the appraiser can retrieve this performance appraisal of the employee, through the “Select Employees to Perform Appraisal” page, and complete the details.
To complete and save the performance evaluation details
Ensure that you have completed entering all the details.
Select “Yes” in the “Have You Completed Appraising” drop-down list box.
Select the “Submit” pushbutton.
The appraiser will not be able to change the details, after the “Submit” pushbutton is selected.
To allow the administrator to edit the completed performance evaluation
Enter the “Perform Employee Appraisal” page, after logging in as the authorized administrator
Select “No” in the “Have You Completed Appraising” drop-down list box.
Edit the details of the performance evaluation.
Select the “Submit” pushbutton.

Objectives in the “Perform Employee Appraisal” page
The objectives listed in the “Perform Evaluation” multiline can come from the following multiple sources:
Objectives created in the appraisal template, through the “Appraisal Template Mapping” activity of Appraisal Setup.
Objectives created for a specific employee, in the “Record Appraisal Objectives” activity of Appraisal Administration
Objectives that are already mapped to the employee’s appraiser, in both the following activities: (i) The “Set Appraisal Objectives’ activity under the Appraisal Self Service component, and (ii) The “Record Appraisal Objectives” under the Appraisal Administration component
Objectives in a template mapped to a group of employees, in which the auto-objective mapping facility has been marked. This is done in the “Appraisal Template Mapping” activity. When the auto-objective mapping facility has been marked, the system automatically maps the objectives in this template to the employee.
