This page allows you to activate a company that is in the “Inactive” status and inactivate a company. Tell me more.

The “Activate / Inactivate Company” page appears.

Company Code

Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the company that you want to activate or inactivate. All the companies that have been created will be available for selection in the ascending order.

The system displays the following in the “Company Identity” group box:

Company Name

The name identifying the company.

Effective Date

The date from which the company is activated or inactivated (Date Format).  Mandatory. The system date is displayed by default at the launch of the page.

The system displays the following in the “Company Identity” group box:

Parent Company Code

The code identifying the parent company.

Parent Company Name

The name identifying the parent company.

Status

The status of the company. It could be “Active” or “Inactive”.

The system displays the following in the “Corporate Office” group box:

Address

The complete mailing address of the company.

City

The city in which the company is located.

State

The state in which the company is located.

Country

The country in which the company is located.

Zip

The zip code of the area in which the company is located.

Phone

The contact telephone number of the company along with the country code and the area code.

Fax

The fax number of the company along with the country code and the area code.

Telex

The telex number of the company.

URL

The URL or the address of the company’s web site.

Mailstop

Mail stop ID of the company.

The system displays the following in the “Company Currency” group box:

Base Currency

The code identifying the base currency of the company.

Description

The description of the base currency.

Parallel Base Currency

The code identifying the parallel base currency of the company.

Description

The description of the parallel base currency.

Note: The company that you want to activate must be in the “Inactive” status. If the selected company has a parent company, the status of the parent company must also be "Active".

The system updates the status of the company as “Active” from the date entered in the “Effective Date” field.

The system updates the login ID of the user and the system date in the “Last Modified By” and the Last Modified Date” fields.

Note: The company that you want to inactivate must be in the “Active” status. If the selected company is a parent company then all the child companies that have been defined under it must also be in the “Inactive” status.

The system updates the status of the company as “Inactive” from the date entered in the “Effective Date” field.

The system also updates the login ID of the user and the system date in the “Last Modified By” and the Last Modified Date” fields.

The system displays the following:

Created By

The login ID of the user who created the company.

Created Date

The date on which the company was created.

Last Modified By

The login ID of the user who last modified the company details.

Last Modified Date

The date on which the details of the company was last modified.

Activating / inactivating a company – An overview

You can select the company that you want to activate. The system retrieves the details of the company based on the selected company. You can view the details of the company before it is activated. You can also enter the date from which the company is activated. The status of the company after it has been activated is updated as “Active”. The system stores the login ID of the user and the system date along with the details of the activation.

 The status of the company that you want to inactivate must be in the “Active” status. You can select the company that you want to inactivate. The system retrieves the details of the company based on the selected company. You can view the details of the company before it is inactivated. You can also enter the date from which the company is inactivated. The status of the company after it has been inactivated is updated as “Inactive”. The system stores the login ID of the user and the system date along with the details of the inactivation.
