Activating / inactivating business units
This page allows you to activate a business unit that is in the “Inactive” status. You can also inactivate a business unit. Tell me more.
Select the “Activate / Inactivate Business Unit” link at the bottom of the “Activate / Inactivate Company” page.
The “Activate / Inactivate Business Unit” page appears.
Enter the following field:
Company Code |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the company for which you want to activate or inactivate business units. All the active companies that have been created will be available for selection in the ascending order. |
The system displays the following:
Company Name |
The name identifying the company. |
Enter the following field:
Effective Date |
The date from which the business unit is activated or inactivated (Date Format). Mandatory. The system date is displayed by default at the launch of the page. |
The system displays the following in the “Business Unit Details” multiline:
Business Unit |
The code identifying the business unit. |
Business Unit Name |
The name identifying the business unit. |
Status |
The status of the business unit. It could be “Active” or “Inactive”. |
Start Date |
The date from which the business unit is active or inactive. |
End Date |
The date till which the business unit was active or inactive. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark a business unit for activation or inactivation.
Note: The business unit that you want to activate must be in the “Inactive” status.
Click the “Activate Business Unit” pushbutton to activate the selected business unit.
The system updates the status of the business unit as “Active” from the date entered in the “Effective Date” field. The system stores the login ID of the user and the system date along with the modified details.
Note: The business unit that you want to inactivate must be in the “Active” status.
Click the “Inactivate Business Unit” pushbutton to inactivate the selected business unit.
The system updates the status of the business unit as “Inactive” from the date entered in the “Effective Date” field. The system stores the login ID of the user and the system date along with the modified details.

Activating / inactivating business units – An overview
You can select the company for which you want to activate the business units. The system retrieves the business unit details of the selected company. You can also enter the date from which the business unit is activated. The status of the business unit after it has been activated is updated as “Active”. The system stores the login ID of the user and the system date along with the details of the activation.
