Modifying delivery areas

This page allows you to modify the delivery area or the parent delivery area details. Tell me more
Select the ”Edit Delivery Area” link under ”Delivery Area” business component
The “Edit Delivery Area” page appears.
Enter the following field, if you know the exact delivery area code:

Delivery Area Code |
The code identifying the delivery area (Alphanumeric, 18). |
To search for a delivery area
Enter the following details in the “Search Criteria” group box:

Delivery Area Code |
The code identifying the delivery area to be modified (Alphanumeric, 18). You can enter the delivery area code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the delivery area codes that are similar to the code entered here. |

Delivery Area Description |
The description of the delivery area to be modified (Alphanumeric, 25). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. |

Parent Delivery Area Code |
The code identifying the parent delivery area (Alphanumeric, 18). You can enter the parent delivery area code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the parent delivery area codes that are similar to the code entered here. |

Parent Delivery Area Description |
The description of the parent area code (Alphanumeric, 25). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. |

Level |
The level at which the delivery area is positioned in the hierarchy (Integer). |

Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the delivery area to be modified. The following options are available: |

Click the “Search” pushbutton to retrieve the delivery area details.
Note: The system retrieves only those delivery area codes that are in “Active” status.
The system displays the following in the “Delivery Area Details” multiline:

The code identifying the delivery area. |

The description of the delivery area (Alphanumeric, 25). Mandatory. |

Level |
The level at which the delivery area is positioned in the hierarchy. |

Parent Delivery Area Code |
The code identifying the parent delivery area code that is in “Active” status (Alphanumeric, 18). The parent delivery area code must have been defined in the “Create Delivery Area” activity, for the login organization unit. |

Parent Delivery Area Description |
The description of the parent delivery area code entered. |
Modify the following field, if required:

Remarks |
Any additional comments pertaining to the delivery area (Alphanumeric, 255). |
Check the box in the “Select“ column of the multiline, to select the delivery area code for modification or cancellation.
The system displays the following fields:

Created By: |
The login user ID of the person who created the delivery area. |
|
Created Date |
The date on which the delivery area was created. |
|
Last Modified By |
The login user ID of the person who last modified the delivery area details. |
|
Last Modified Date |
The date on which the delivery area details were last modified. |
To modify the delivery area details
Click the “Edit Delivery Area (S)” pushbutton to update the modified details of the delivery area.
The system performs the following, after clicking the “Edit Delivery Area(S)” pushbutton:
Regenerates the level number of the delivery area code based on the new parent delivery area code.
If the delivery area code is originally mapped to a parent delivery area code and the parent delivery area code is changed, the system displays an error message.
To delete delivery area(s)
Click the “Delete Delivery Area (S)” pushbutton to delete the selected delivery area(s).
Note: You can delete a delivery area code only when it is in the lowest level in the hierarchy.
The system performs the following:
The status of the deleted delivery area code is updated to “Canceled”.
Regenerates the level number of the delivery area code, when the mapping to the parent delivery area code is removed.
Modifying delivery areas – An overview
This page allows you to modify the delivery area or the parent delivery area details. The system regenerates the level numbers when the delivery area is mapped to a new parent delivery area. You can replace the existing parent delivery area with a new parent delivery area.
You are also provided with the option of deleting a delivery area or a parent delivery area.
Cancel single or multiple delivery areas
Cancel single or multiple delivery areas
You can cancel a delivery area when it is in the lowest level in the hierarchy. A parent delivery area can be canceled when all the child delivery areas under it are canceled.
Enter filter criteria to search for delivery areas.
Select the delivery areas to be canceled, in the multiline.
Click the “Delete Delivery Area(s)” pushbutton.
The system sets the status of the delivery area codes to “Canceled” and regenerates the level numbers of all the delivery areas in the hierarchy.
