Managing Dimensions
Select the “Manage Dimensions” activity under the “Financial Dimension” business component.
The “Manage Dimensions” page appears.
Select the “Setup Dimension” tab to setup system defined and user defined dimensions.
Select the “Map to Companies” tab to map the dimensions to the companies.
Select the “Map to Account Codes” tab to map the dimensions to Account Codes.
Select the “Maintain Dimensions” tab to map or unmap the dimensions.
Recording Setup Dimension
This tab enables the user to setup system defined and user defined dimensions.
Enter the following field in the header section:
Organization Type |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the Organization Type for which the system defined and user defined are setup. The system lists the values “General”, “Airline”, “Speciality Operators”, “MRO”, “ITM” along with a blank value. The system leaves the field blank, by default. |
The system displays the following field:
Managed at |
The level at which the Dimensions are managed. The system displays the value “Company Level”. |
Select the “System Defined Dimensions” tab to record the system defined dimensions such as Aircraft Reg. #, Aircraft Model, Item # etc.
Select the “User Defined Dimensions” tab to record the user defined dimensions.
Click the “Save” pushbutton to save the entered information.
Recording System Defined Dimensions
.Enter the following field in the “Search Section”:
Dimension Name |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the system defined dimension whose detail is to be retrieved. The system lists all the system defined dimensions saved for the selected Organization Type/ Company. |
The system displays the following field in the “Search Section”:

The description of the system defined Dimension. |
Enter the following fields in the multiline:
Dimension Name |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the system defined Dimension. The system lists all the system defined dimensions saved for the selected Organization Type/ Company. |
Dimension Description |
The description of the system defined Dimension. |
Linked System Entity |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the Linked system Entity for the system Defined Dimension. The system lists all the system defined Dimension values along with a blank value. The system leaves the field blank, by default. |
User Input |
Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the user input is available for the Dimension. The system lists the value “Yes” and “No”. The system defaults the value “No”, by default. |
Recording User Defined Dimensions
Enter the following field in the “Search” section:
Dimension Name |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the system defined Dimension whose detail is to be retrieved. The system lists all the user defined dimensions saved for the selected Organization Type/ Company. |
The system displays the following field:

The description of the user defined Dimension. |
Enter the following fields in the multiline:
Dimension Name |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the system defined Dimension. The system lists all the user defined dimensions saved for the selected Organization Type/ Company. |
Dimension Description |
The description of the user defined Dimension. |
Values Managed At |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the level at which the dimension values are managed. The system lists the options “Company”, “Installation” and “Organization Unit” along with a blank value. The system leaves the field blank, by default. |
The system displays the following field in the multiline:
Manage Values |
Click the hyperlink to provide the Dimension Value at an entity level. On click of the hyperlink “Set Dimensions Value” screen appears. |
Mapping to Companies
This tab enables the user to map the dimensions to the companies.
Tree Interface Display
4 The tree interface in the left section displays all the existing active companies in the installation.
4 On expanding the tree, the available saved dimensions for each company will get listed as sub nodes.
Enter the following fields in the “Dimension Mapping” section:
Dest Company |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the destination company for which the Dimension Mapping is to be performed. The system lists all the active companies available in the installation. The system displays the first company, by default. |
Dimension Name |
Use the drop-down to specify the Dimension for which mapping is to be done. The system lists all the system defined and user defined dimensions along with a blank value. The system leaves the field blank, by default. |
The system displays the following field:
Dimension Desc |
The description of the Dimension. |
Click the “Get” pushbutton to retrieve the Dimension details based on the search criteria provided.
The system displays the following fields in the multiline:
Company |
The company to which the Dimension is mapped. |
Dimension Name |
The Dimension name which is mapped to the company. |
Linked System Entity |
The linked system entity for the system defined dimension. |
User Input |
Indicates whether the user input is available for the system defined dimension. |
Enter the following field:
Sequence |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the sequence in which the system defined dimensions are mapped to the company. The system lists the values from “0” to “15”. The system displays the value “0”, by default. |
Click the “Save” pushbutton to map the dimensions to companies.
Select the “Set Dimension Value” link to set the user defined Dimension values.
Mapping to Account Codes
This tab enables the user to map the Dimensions to Account Codes.
Enter the following fields in the “Account Details” group box:
Company |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the Company. The system lists all the companies available in the installation. The system displays the first company, by default. |
Finance Book |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the finance book of the company. The system lists all the active Finance Books for the defaulted company. The system displays the first FB, by default. |
Account Code From |
The starting code in the range of account codes to which the Dimensions are mapped. Help facility available. |
Account Code To |
The ending code in the range of codes to which the Dimensions are mapped. Help facility available. |
Dimension Name |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the Dimension name. The system lists all the saved dimensions against the defaulted Company Code along with a blank value. The system leaves the field blank, by default. |
Account Group |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the group to which the account belongs. The system lists the values “Expenses”, “Revenue”, “Liabilities”, “Asset”, “Capital” and “All”. The system displays the value “All”, by default. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the status of the Dimension. The system lists the values “Mapped”, “Unmapped” along with a blank value. The system leaves the field blank, by default. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton to retrieve the results based on the entered criteria.
Enter the following fields in the “Default Values” group box:
Effective From Date |
Specify the default date from which the account code mapping of the dimension is valid. |
Dimension 1 |
Select the checkbox to display the Dimension 1 checkbox as checked in the multiline, by default. |
Dimension 2 |
Select the checkbox to display the Dimension 2 checkbox as checked in the multiline, by default. |
Dimension 3 |
Select the checkbox to display the Dimension 13 checkbox as checked in the multiline, by default. |
Dimension 4 |
Select the checkbox to display the Dimension 4 checkbox as checked in the multiline, by default. |
Dimension 5 |
Select the checkbox to display the Dimension 5 checkbox as checked in the multiline, by default. |
Dimension 6 |
Select the checkbox to display the Dimension 6 checkbox as checked in the multiline, by default. |
Dimension 7 |
Select the checkbox to display the Dimension 7 checkbox as checked in the multiline, by default. |
Dimension 8 |
Select the checkbox to display the Dimension 8 checkbox as checked in the multiline, by default. |

Select the checkbox to display the Dimension 9 checkbox as checked in the multiline, by default. |

Click the “Default” pushbutton to default the entered details.

The Destination Finance Book of the company. |
Account Code |
The account code that is to be mapped to the Dimension. |
The system displays the following field:

The description of the Dimension. |
Enter the following field in the multiline:
Effective From Date |
The date from which the Dimension and Account Code mapping is effective. |
The system displays the following fields:

The name of the Dimension. |
Dimension 1 |
Select the checkbox to indicate that the Dimension 1 is mapped to the Account Code. |
Dimension 2 |
Select the checkbox to indicate that the Dimension 2 is mapped to the Account Code. |
Dimension 3 |
Select the checkbox to indicate that the Dimension 3 is mapped to the Account Code. |
Dimension 4 |
Select the checkbox to indicate that the Dimension 4 is mapped to the Account Code. |
Dimension 5 |
Select the checkbox to indicate that the Dimension 5 is mapped to the Account Code. |
Dimension 6 |
Select the checkbox to indicate that the Dimension 6 is mapped to the Account Code. |
Dimension 7 |
Select the checkbox to indicate that the Dimension 7 is mapped to the Account Code. |
Dimension 8 |
Select the checkbox to indicate that the Dimension 8 is mapped to the Account Code. |
Dimension 9 |
Select the checkbox to indicate that the Dimension 9 is mapped to the Account Code. |
Dimension 10 |
Select the checkbox to indicate that the Dimension 10 is mapped to the Account Code. |
Dimension 11 |
Select the checkbox to indicate that the Dimension 11 is mapped to the Account Code. |
Dimension 12 |
Select the checkbox to indicate that the Dimension 12 is mapped to the Account Code. |
Dimension 13 |
Select the checkbox to indicate that the Dimension 13 is mapped to the Account Code. |
Dimension 14 |
Select the checkbox to indicate that the Dimension 14 is mapped to the Account Code. |
Dimension 15 |
Select the checkbox to indicate that the Dimension 15 is mapped to the Account Code. |
Status |
The status of the Dimension which could be “Mapped” or “Unmapped”. |
Maintaining Dimensions
This tab enables the user to map/unmap the dimension details.
Enter the following fields in the header section:
Company |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the company mapped to the Dimension. The system lists all the companies available in the installation. The system displays the first company, by default. |
Finance Book |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the Finance Book of the company. The system lists all the active Finance Books for the defaulted company. The system displays the first finance book, by default. |
Account Code From |
The starting code in the range of account codes to which the Dimensions are mapped. Help facility available. |
Account Code To |
The ending code in the range of account codes to which the Dimensions are mapped. Help facility available. |
Dimension Name |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the Dimension name mapped to the Company. The system lists all the saved dimensions against the defaulted Company Code along with a blank value. The system leaves the field blank, by default. Note: maximum 15 dimensions will be listed in the drop-down field. |
Account Group |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the group to which the account belongs. The system lists the values “Expenses”, “Revenue”, “Liabilities”, “Asset”, “Capital” and “All”. The system displays the value “All”, by default. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the status of the Dimension. The system lists the values “Mapped” and “Unmapped” along with a blank value. The system leaves the field blank, by default. |

Select Enter the following field:
Account Code |
The Account Code mapped to the Dimension. |
The system displays the following fields in the multiline:
Description |
The description of the Dimension. |
Dimension Name |
The name identifying the Dimension. |
Status |
The status of the Dimension which could be “Mapped” or “Unmapped”. |
Enter the following fields:
Effective From Date |
The date from which the Dimension and Account Code mapping is effective. |
Effective To Date |
The date upto which the Dimension and Account Code mapping is effective. |
Click the “Map” pushbutton to map the Dimension Details.
Click the “Unmap” pushbutton to unmap the Dimension Details.
