Selecting cost element structure for activation or inactivation
This page allows you to search and select a cost element structure that you want to activate or inactivate. Tell me more.
Select the “Activate / Inactivate Cost Element Structure” link under the “Cost Setup” business component.
The “Select Cost Element Structure” page appears.
Enter the following field if you are aware of the code identifying the cost element structure that you want to activate or inactivate:
CE Structure ID |
The code identifying the cost element structure that you want to activate or inactivate (Alphanumeric, 10). |
Select the “Activate / Inactivate Structure” link provided alongside to activate or inactivate the selected cost element structure.
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for the cost element structure that you want to activate or inactivate. Data entry in the following fields is optional.
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the cost element structure that you want to retrieve. You can select from “Active”, “Inactive” or “All”. The system displays “Active” by default on launch of the page. |
Structure ID From |
The starting code in the range of cost element structure codes that you want to retrieve (Alphanumeric, 10). |
Note: The code entered in this field must be before or the same as the code entered in the “To” field.

The ending code in the range of cost element structure codes that you want to retrieve (Alphanumeric, 10). |
Description |
The description of the cost element structure (Alphanumeric, 40). |

Click the “Search” pushbutton to retrieve the search results.
The system retrieves and displays the following in the “Cost Element Structure Details” multiline based on the search criteria entered:
Structure ID |
The code identifying the cost element structure. |
Description |
The description of the cost element structure. |
Status |
The status of the structure. It could be “Active” or “Inactive”. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark a structure that you do not want to activate or inactivate
Note: You can activate cost element structures that are in the “Inactive” status.
Click the “Activate Structure” pushbutton to activate all the structures in the multiline .
The system updates the status of the cost element structure as “Active”. The system stores the login ID of the user and the system date along with the modified structure details.
Note: You can inactivate cost element structures that are in the “Active” status.
Click the “Inactivate Structure” pushbutton to inactivate all the structures in the multiline.
The system updates the status of the cost element structure as “Inactive”. The system stores the login ID of the user and the system date along with the modified structure details.

Selecting cost element structure for activation or inactivation – An overview
If you know the code identifying the cost element structure you can enter it directly. Otherwise, you can carry out a search by specifying the status of the structure, the range of structure IDs and the description of the structure that you want to retrieve. The system retrieves the structure details based on the search criteria entered.
This page allows you to activate multiple cost element structures. You can activate a cost element structure that is in the “Inactive” status. The system updates the status of the structure as “Active”. The system also stores the login ID of the user and the system date along with the modified structure details.

The system updates the status of the structure as “Inactive”. The system also stores the login ID of the user and the system date along with the modified structure details.
