Managing formulae

Select the “Manage Formula” activity under the “Cost Setup” business component.

The “Manage Formula” page appears.

Enter the following fields:

Reference Type	Use the drop-down list box to specify any one of the following options with reference to which you wish to define formula. The system lists the following options: · CE Structure ID - Select this option if you wish to define formula for the elements whose element type is formula · Col. Structure ID – Select this option if you wish to define formula for the elements whose “Data Based On” is ‘Formula - Column level’. · Report ID – Select this option if you wish to define formula for Report ID which uses any of the following: Note that the system defaults values as follows: · “CE Structure ID” on launching this activity from the “Manage CE Structure” page. · “Col. Structure ID” on launching this activity from the Manage Cost Column Structure. · “Report ID” on launching this activity from the Manage Cost & Profitability Report The system displays the following values by default in this field: · “CE Structure ID” when this page is launched from the left pane / the “Manage CE Structure ID” activity. · “Column Structure ID” when this page is launched from the “Manage Cost Column Structure” activity. · “Report ID” when this page is launched from the “Manage Cost & Profitability Report Templates” activity. · Blank when this page is launched from the left pane.
Reference ID	Use the drop-down list box to specify the reference corresponding to the Reference Type selected. Mandatory. The system lists the values as follows: If CE Structure ID” is specified as the Reference Type. All the CE Structure IDs with at least one Element as defined for the Element Type “Formula” in the “Manage CE Structure” activity of the current business component If Column Structure ID is specified as the Reference Type All the column structure IDs with at least one column with “Data Based on” as Formula – Column Level. If Report ID is specified as the Reference Type All the column structure IDs with at least one column with “Data Based On” as Formula – Element Level. By default the system displays the CDce Structure ID / Cost Column Structure ID/ Report ID based on the respective Manage CE Structure / Manage Cost Column Structure/ Manage Cost & Profitability Structure screens from which it is launched.
Column Name	Use the drop-down list box to select the name of the column for which you wish to define formula.
Element	Use the drop-down list box to select the element for which you wish to define formula. The system lists the values as follows: If CE Structure ID is specified as the Reference ID All the Elements with Element Type as Formula for the selected CE Structure IDwill load in the combo. If Column Structure ID is specified as the Reference ID All the column descriptions for which Data Based On is “Formula – Column Level for the selected Column Structure ID will load in the combo. If Report ID is selected as the Reference ID All the column descriptions for which Data Based On is Formula – Column Element Level for selected Column Structure ID will load in the combo.

Click the “Search” pushbutton to retrieve the search details in the multiline.

The system displays the formulas for the given combination of CE Structure ID & Element (or) Column Structure ID and Column Description (or) Report ID & Column Description if already they have already been defined.

Element

Use the drop-down list box to specify the element for which you wish to define formula. The system lists the values as follows:

If CE Structure ID” is specified as the Reference Type.

All the Elements with Element Type “Schedule”, “Formula” or “Group” in that CE Structure as well as “Static”.

If Column Structure ID is specified as the Reference Type

All the columnnames in the selected Column Structure ID and “Static”.

If Report ID is specified as the Reference Type

The multiline will load the element combo with element type schedule, formula, group which is defined for the report id.

The system displays the following field:

Formula Variable

The identification of the row for defining formulas.

Enter the following field in the multiline:

Column Name

Use the drop-down list box to select the name of the column.

The system displays the following field:

Column ID

The identification number of the column.

Enter the following field in the multiline:

Value

Indicates the value for a static column name or element name.

Operation

Use the drop-down list box to specify the symbol representing the operation to be performed for the cost element specified. The system lists the following options:

By default the system leaves this field blank.

Enter the following field:

Disp. In%

Use the drop-down list box to specify the whether value in percentage is to be displayed in the report adjacent to the value. The system lists the options “Yes” and “No”.

Note: Ensure that at least one record is saved in the multiline.

Note: Ensure that either Element, Column Description or Value is selected in the multiline.

Select the “Save” pushbutton to save the formula for CE Structure ID/Col. Structure ID/Report ID and the Element/Column Description.

The system performs the following:

4 Updates the status of CE Structure ID as “Active”.

4 Updates the status of the Report ID as “Active”

The system displays the following field:

The defined formula.
