The “Set Parameters – Fixed Assets” page appears.

Capitalization Threshold in Base Currency for Asset Purchases

The minimum value of a capital part above which capitalization of assets purchased can be made.

The value entered here must be greater than  zero.

The system defaults zero as the value if no value is provided here.

Allow In-service Date Prior to Capitalization Date

Use the drop down list box to specify whether the assets can be put to use before the actual capitalization date. Mandatory. You can select from “Yes” or “No”.

  • Yes - Select this option to specify the in-service date prior to the capitalization date.

  • No - Select this option to specify  the in-service date on or after the capitalization date.

The system leaves the field blank by default if no value is set, else the system defaults with the value that has already been set.

Asset Life Managed at

Use the drop-down list box to specify the level at which you want to manage asset life. Mandatory. You can select from the following options:

  • Depreciation Category –- Select this option if you want to manage asset life at depreciation category level.

  • Asset Tag – Select this option if you want to manage asset life at asset tag level.

 

The system leaves the field blank by default if no value is set, else the system

defaults with the value that has already been set.

Level at which Assets are Mapped to Assets Group

Use the drop-down list box to specify the level at which asset group is to be mapped in “Asset Capitalization” business component. You can select from “Asset” or “Asset class”.

Capitalization Reference for asset purchase

Use the drop-down list box to specify the document to be referenced for capitalization. Mandatory.  You can select from the following options:

  • Good Receipt - If this option is selected  the system allows to capitalize assets based on Goods Receipt document. Price variance in invoice can be capitalized separately using Invoice as a document for capitalization.

  • Invoice - If this option is selected, the system allows to capitalized  based on the Invoice only. Goods Receipt document cannot be used to capitalize assets.

The system leaves the field blank by default if no value is set, else the system defaults with the value that has been already set.

Note that this parameter cannot be modified once the goods receipt documents have posted financial entries.

Automatic Confirmation of Asset Class Transfer

Use the drop-down list box to specify whether confirmation of transfer of asset class must be automatic. You can select from “Yes” or “No”.

By default the system displays “Yes”.

Account Asset Transfer Receipt on

Use the drop-down list box to specify the date of receipt of asset transfer. You can select from “Date of Transfer” or “Date of receipt”

Write-off CME Balance on Overhaul

Use the drop-down list box to specify whether CME balance on overhaul is to be written off. You can select from “Yes” or “No”.

Reversal of CME Write-Off

Use the drop-down list box to specify if CME write-off is to be reversed. The system lists the options “Yes” and “No”.

Allocate Depreciation amount based on Aircraft Usage

Use the drop-down list box to indicate whether depreciation amount is to be allocated based on the usage of the aircraft. You can select from the options “Yes” or “No”.

Allow Modification of Usage Info. for Depreciation

Use the drop-down list box to specify if modification of Usage information is allowed for depreciation. The system lists the options “Yes” and “No”.

Allow FB Closure Before Inventory Completion

Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the inventory calendar must be closed before the closure of the corresponding finance book, that is, all financial entries pertaining to inventory transactions must have been posted before closing the finance book. You can select from “Yes” or “No”. The system displays “No” by default on launch of the page.

Allow Downward Revaluation

Use the drop-down list box to specify whether assets can be revalued with the revaluation type as “Downward” revaluation. You can select from “Yes” or “No”. The system displays “No” by default on launch of the page.

Automatic Creation of Asset ID (Part B)

Use the drop-down list box to specify whether asset numbers are automatically generated with the asset class code prefix, in the “Asset Capitalization” business component. You can select from “Yes” or “No”. The system displays “No” by default on launch of the page.

First Number for Automatic Asset ID Creation

The first identification number in the asset identification number series for each class of assets, automatically generated by the system (Decimal).

The value entered here must be greater than zero.

Currency Validation Required For Asset Budget

Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the currency in which an asset budget is prepared must be validated. You can select from “Yes” or “No”. The system displays “No” by default on launch of the page.

Retirement Proposal Not Required For Amounts Below

The minimum value of an asset above which a retirement proposal for the asset can be created (Decimal). The value entered here must be greater than zero.

Exchange Rate Type For Asset Management

Use the drop-down list box to select the exchange rate type based on which exchange rates will be retrieved in all the business components of the “Fixed Assets Management” business process chain. All the exchange rate types that have been defined for the login organization unit will be available for selection. The system displays the first value by default on launch of the page.

Org. Level at which Asset Exchange and Phase out are Tracked

Use the drop-down list box to indicate the level at which asset exchange / scrap has to be tracked. The system lists the following options:

  • Group Company Level - Select this option if assets are exchanged within the group companies.

  • Organization Unit Level - Select this option if assets not exchanged within the group companies.

Asset Usage Tracking Required at Group Company Level ?

Use the drop-down list box to specify whether asset usage tracking is required at Group Company Level. You can select from the options “Yes” or “No”.

Basis of Identifying a Part Serial at a Group Level

Use the drop-down list box to specify the basis on which part serial is identified within  group companies.

  • Part Serial # - Select this option if part serial number is used for identification of a part in the group company.

  • Manufacturer Serial # - Select this option if the manufacturer serial number is used for identification of a part in the group company.

Note that this option is applicable only for Group Companies.

The system saves the process parameters and also updates the login ID of the user and the system date along.
