The system displays the following field:
Date & Time Format |
The format in which the date and time fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user id. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date and time format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
The system displays the following in the “Kit Information” group box.
Kit Break # |
The # identifying the Break Kit transaction. |
Status |
The status of the kit part. Note: You can break a kit part only if its status is “Fresh”. |
Enter the following in the “Kit Information” group box.
Kit Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the category of the kit part you want to break. The drop-down list box displays the categories defined under Category For “Break Kit” in the Create Common Category activity of the Logistics Common Master business component. |
User Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the user status of the kit. The drop-down list displays all “Active” user statuses defined for the document type “Build / Break Kit” in the Logistics Common Masters component. |

Warehouse # |
The warehouse that stores the kit part. Note: The system allows breakup of the kit part serial only if,

The “Kit Constituent Details” multiline displays the following.
BOM Part # |
The constituent part of the kit as defined in the “Maintain Kit Composition” activity. |

The constituent part to be allocated to the kit part. |
Quantity |
The quantity of the constituent part available in the kit part. |
UOM |
Unit of measurement of the constituent part. |
Enter the following in the “Kit Constituent Details” multiline.
Break Quantity |
The quantity of the constituent part that must be removed from the kit part. Note: a) The break quantity that you specify must be available in stock to enable the system to break the kit part. b) The break quantity must be at least 1, if you do not want to select the “Break all Parts” check box. C) The break quantity must be a positive numeral. D) The break quantity can be a fractional number, if the UOM of the constituent part supports fractions, as defined in the UOM component. e) The break quantity must be less than or equal to the quantity of the constituent part required for the kit part. f) You must not specify break quantity is not relevant, if you are to select the “Break all Parts” check box. |
Placement Zone # |
The zone in the warehouse where the break quantity of the constituent part is stored. Note: The placement zone is mandatory, if the warehouse is of type “Normal”. |
Bin # |
The bin in the warehouse where the break quantity of the constituent part is stored. Note: The placement bin is not required, if the warehouse is of type “Free”. |
Note: It is mandatory to specify zone and bin for the break quantity of the constituent part. However, the system sets the zone and bin of the constituent to those of the kit part, if you do not specify these for the constituent part. However, this can happen only if the zone and bin of the kit part accept stock status and condition of the constituent part.

Replenishment MR |
Use the drop-down list box to select the mode of generating material request for replenishment of requisite constituent part. The drop-down list box displays the following: “Automatic” and “Manual” By default, this field displays the value as defined in the Set Inventory Process Parameters in the Logistics Common Masters component. |

Select the “Get Storage Information” pushbutton to retrieve placement details of constituent parts in the “Kit Constituent Details” multiline.
The multiline displays the placement details of constituent parts as defined in the planning information of the Part Administration component.

Reasons for canceling the breakup of the kit part. Cancellation comments are mandatory only if you want to cancel breakup of the kit. |
Select the “Break all Parts” check box to indicate all constituents of the kit part must be broken up.
Breaking kit
Select the “Break Kit” pushbutton.
The system allocates Break Kit # to the Break Kit transaction and sets the status of the transaction to “Fresh”.
The system processes only those constituent parts for which break quantity is greater than Zero and placement zone/bin is not specified. However, if the “Break all Parts” check box is selected, it sets the break quantity of all the constituents to the quantity that is required for creation of the kit part.
Confirming kit break
Select the “Confirm Break” pushbutton.
The system performs the following on confirmation of kit break.
For entire kit breakup
When the break quantity of all the constituents is equal to the requisite quantity as defined in the “Maintain Kit Composition” activity), generates
Auto Return in “Confirmed” status for all constituents of the kit part
Auto Issue in “Confirmed” status for the kit part
For partial kit breakup
If a constituent part is broken from the kit, the cost of the kit needs to be reduced. The system generates negative Stock Correction to decrease the value of the kit.
When the break quantity of constituents is less than the requisite quantity or only some of the constituents are broken up, the system generates Auto Return in “Confirmed” status for the broken constituents of the kit part
Material request
If Material Replenishment is “Automatic”, the system generates material request of type “Replenishment” automatically for the break quantity of constituent parts.
Generates MMD for Issue/Return as applicable
Status of Break Kit transaction
Sets the status of the Break Kit transaction to “Confirmed”.
Canceling kit break
Select the “Cancel Break” pushbutton.
Sets the status of the Break Kit transaction to “Canceled”.
