Recording parameter values for engine or APU usage
This page, you can report these parameter values. You can select the parameter type for which the parameter value has to be reported. Tell me more.
Select the “Update Engine/APU Usage” link at the bottom of the “Select Visit Package” page.
The “Update Engine / APU Usage” page appears.
The system displays the following field:
Date & Time Format |
The format in which the date and time fields are displayed. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date and time format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
The system displays the following in the “Visit Package Details” group box:
Visit Package # |
The visit package to which the work order is associated. |
Aircraft Reg # |
The aircraft for which the visit package is applicable. |
Title |
The textual description of the visit package. Zoom facility available. |
Enter the following in the “Display Filter” group box:
Parameter Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the parameter to be retrieved, which could be “Technical”, “Attribute”, “Range” or “Consumption”. Leave this field blank to search irrespective of the parameter type. The system sets the field to “Consumption” by default. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve the parameter details based on the parameter type.
The system retrieves the following:
The position code of type “APU” and “Engine” associated to the aircraft.
The component attached to the position code and the parameters associated to the component.
The system displays the following in the “Parameter Details” multiline:
Position Code |
The position code to which the component is fitted. |
Position Type |
The type of the position code, which could be “APU” or “Engine”. |
Component # |
The component ID attached to the position code. |
Parameter |
The parameter number associated to the component ID. For the parameter type specified in the “Parameter Type” field of the “Display Filter” group box, the system retrieves all the parameters in the alphabetical order, from the “Aircraft” business component, that are associated to the component number. |
Parameter Type |
The type of the parameter, which could be “Technical”, “Attribute”, “Range” or “Consumption”. |
UOM |
The unit of measurement for the parameter. |
Current Value |
The existing value of the parameter. |
Enter the following:
Updated Value |
The reported value of the parameter (Alphanumeric, 32). Data entry in this field is mandatory if the “Updated Date” and “Updated Time” field is specified. Ensure that the value entered in this field is positive, if the parameter type is other than “Range”. Help facility available. |
Updated Date |
The date on which the parameter value was reported (Date Format). |
Updated Time |
The time at which the parameter value was reported (Time Format). |

Click the “Update Values” pushbutton to update the parameter values for the component.
Note: Atleast one row should be entered in the multiline.
The system updates the updated value, updated date, time and updated mode for the parameter associated to the component.
Recording parameter values for engine or APU usage – An overview
Depending on the maintenance jobs carried out on the aircraft and it’s components, there might be a need to update certain parameters. For example, on execution of certain prescribed modifications, the weight and moment of the aircraft needs to be measured and recorded. While the aircraft is on ground, the APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) is used to supply power to all the required systems. In such cases, the APU run hours need to be updated. Test runs of critical components such as engines might also be carried out. The respective parameter values can be updated as part of the visit package.
In this page, you can report these parameter values. You can select the parameter type for which the parameter value has to be reported.
The system displays the position code of type engine and APU and the component associated to the position code. The system also displays the parameters that are associated to the component ID. You can specify the parameter value and the date and time on which the parameter value was updated.
Specify update mode for the parameter
Specify update mode for the parameter
You can select the mode by which the parameter value has to be updated.
