Assigning work orders or WO tasks to the selected work group
This page allows you to assign the work groups for carrying out the work order. Tell me more.
Select the “Assign Work Order / Task(s)” link in the “Select Work Group” page.
The “Assign Work Order / Task(s)” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date & Time Format |
The format in which the date and time fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date and time format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
The system displays the following in the “Work Group Details” group box:
Work Group # |
The work group selected in the previous page. |
Name |
The name of the work group. |
Work Center # |
The work center to which the work group is attached. |
Enter the following fields:
From Date |
The starting date in the range of assigned dates (Date Format). The system retrieves the work orders or WO tasks assigned to the selected work group from this date. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the work orders or WO tasks from the current server date. |
To Date |
The ending date in the range of assigned dates (Date Format). Ensure this date is equal to or greater than the “From Date” value. The system retrieves the work orders or WO tasks assigned to the selected work group till this date. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve the work orders or work order tasks for the specified range of dates.
Enter the following fields in the “Default Details” group box:
Assign : From Date & Time |
The default date and time from which the work order is assigned to the selected work group (Date and Time Format). The system updates these values in the “From Date” and “From Time” fields in the multiline, if they are left blank. This type of updation is useful, if you wish to assign a large number of work orders on the same date and time. |
Assign : To Date |
The default date till which the work order is assigned to the selected work group (Date and Time Format). The system updates these values in the “To Date” fields in the multiline, if they are left blank. |
Hours / Day |
The total number of hours in a day, for which the work order is assigned to the work group (Decimal). Ensure this is a positive value. The system updates this value in the “Hours / Day” field in the multiline, if it is left blank. |
Assignment Comments |
Any additional comments pertaining to the work order/ task assignment (Alphanumeric, 255). Zoom facility available. |
Enter the following fields in the “Work Order / Task Details” multiline:
Work Order # |
The number that identifies the work order that you need to assign to the selected work group (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. Ensure the work order is already defined in the “Create Work Order” activity of the current business component. Help facility available. |
Note: You cannot modify the work orders that are already assigned to the work group. You cannot assign a work order, which is in the “Cancelled”, “Completed” or “Closed” status.
Seq # |
The sequence in which the tasks should be performed while executing the work order (Integer). |
Task # |
The number that identifies the work order task that you need to assign to the selected work group (Alphanumeric, 30). Mandatory. Ensure the work order task is already defined in the “Create Work Order” activity of the current business component and the transient status to the WO task is “Null”. Help facility available. |
Note: You cannot modify a work order task that is already assigned to the work group. You cannot assign a work order task, which is in the “Cancelled”, “Completed” or “Closed” status.
You cannot assign work order whose job status is “Fresh”, if the “'WO Assignments Prior to Scheduling” field is set as” Not Allowed” in the “Set Option” activity of the current business component.
The system displays the following fields:
Job Status |
The job status of the work order. |
User Status |
The user-defined status of the work order. |
Enter the following fields:
From Date |
The date from which the work order is assigned to the work group (Date Format). Ensure this date is not earlier than the scheduled start of the work order. If you leave this field blank, the system updates the default “From” date value from the “Default Details” group box. |
From Time |
The time from which the work order is assigned to the work group (Time Format). If you leave this field blank, the system updates the default “From” time value from the “Default Details” group box. |
To Date |
The date till which the work order is assigned to the work group (Date Format). Ensure this date is greater than or equal to the “From Date” and lesser than the scheduled end date of the work order. If you leave this field blank, the system updates the default “To” date value from the “Default Details” group box. |
The system displays the following:
To Time |
The time till which the work order is assigned to the work group. |
Enter the following:
Hours / Day |
The total number of hours per day, for which the work order is assigned to the work group (Decimal). Ensure this is a positive value. |
Note:If this field is left blank, then the system takes the “Standard Hours” as identified in the “Create Employee Assignment” activity of the “Employee Information” business component. If the employee calendar does not exist, then it takes the value as set in the “Work Hours/ Day” field of the “Maintain Standard Calendar” activity of the “Common Masters” business component.

The aircraft for which the work order is raised. |
Visit Package |
The visit package from which the work order is raised. |
Priority # |
The number that identifies the urgency level of the work order. |
Task Description |
The textual description of the task. |
Work Order Description |
The textual description of the work order. |
Enter the following field:
Assignment Comments |

Enter the following fields in the “Change Options’ group box:
Re-Assign To : Work Group # |
The number that identifies the work group, if you wish to re-assign the work orders in the multiline to a work group other than the selected work group (Alphanumeric, 20). Ensure this work group is already defined in the “Create Work Group” activity of the current business component and is in the “active” status. If a value is entered in this field, ensure that there is no approved leave for the employees of the Work Group to be reassigned for any time duration or date falling within the date and time range assigned for performing the work order. Help facility available. |
Note: Ensure that the work group to which the work orders must be re-assigned, has the applicability as “Hangar” or “Line & Hangar”. |

Change to : User Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the user-defined status of the work orders. The system lists all the “active” quick codes of type “User Status” as defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity of the current business component. Leave this field blank, if you do not wish to change the user-defined status of the work orders. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the work orders for re-assigning or modifying the employee assignments.
Click the “Assign” pushbutton to assign the work orders to the selected work group.
The system assigns the work orders to the work group. If you have entered the re-assignment details, the system re-assigns the selected work orders to the new work group. The system stores the name of the login user and the current server date as the last modified date of the work order.
The work orders can be assigned only to those employees belonging to the work group, who has no approved leave for the time duration or date falling within the date or time duration assigned for the work order.
Note: The work order can be assigned to the work group, even if there exists atleast one employee belonging to the work group who doesnot have approved leave for any time duration or date falling within the date or time duration assigned for the work order.

Assigning work orders or WO tasks to the selected work group – An overview
This page allows you to assign the work groups for carrying out the work order as well as for the tasks that are specified in the work order. You can assign the work groups that are already defined in the “Create Work Group” activity of the current business component.
You can enter the resource assignment details by entering the task associated to the work order or the work order itself, in the multiline. You can enter details such as the date and time for which the work group is assigned and the number of hours for which the work group is assigned in a day. You can assign the work group to the same task more than once on different assignment dates. However, you cannot assign work orders or tasks, which are in the “Closed”, “Cancelled” or “Completed” status.
“Create Work Order” activity. The work order must NOT be in the “Cancelled”, “Completed” or “Closed” status.

You can assign multiple work orders or WO tasks, to a work group.
Enter the work orders or work order tasks to be assigned to the selected work group.
Enter the start date and time, from which you wish to assign the work orders to the work group, in the “Work Order / Task(s) Details” multiline.
Enter the end date, till which you wish to assign the work orders, in the “Work Order / Task(s) Details” multiline.
Enter the number of hours per day the work group is assigned to the work order or task.
Click the “Assign” pushbutton, to assign the work orders or tasks to the work group.
