Modifying employee assignment details for the work order
This page allows you to modify the employee assignments details. Tell me more.
Select the “Edit Employee Assignment” link in the “Assign Work Order / Task(s)” page.
The “Edit Employee Assignment page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date & Time Format |
The format in which the date and time fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date and time format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
The system displays the following in the “Work Order Details” group box:
Work Order # |
The work order selected in the previous page. |
Work Order Description |
The textual description of the work order. Zoom facility available. |
Enter the following field:
Task # |
Use the drop-down list to select the WO task for which you need to modify the employee assignment details. The system lists all the tasks (along with the sequence number) in the work order. The system displays “All Tasks” by default. Select “All Tasks”, if you wish to modify the assignments details for all the tasks in the work order. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve the assignment details for the selected task in the work order.
The system displays the following fields:
Task Description |
The textual description of the task. Zoom facility available. |
Aircraft Reg # |
The number that identifies the aircraft on which the task is executed. |
Visit Package # |
The visit package for which the work order is raised. |
Job Status |
The job status of the work order or task. |
Work Center # |
The work center in which the work order is executed. |
Sch. Start Date |
The scheduled start date of the work order. |
Sch. End Date |
The scheduled end date of the work order. |
Enter the following fields in the “Default Details” group box:
Assign : From Date & Time |
The default date and time from which the work order or task is assigned to the selected work group (Date and Time Format). The system updates these values in the “From Date” and “From Time” fields in the multiline, if they are left blank. This type of updation is useful, if you wish to assign a large number of work orders for the same date and time. |
Assign : To Date |
The default date till which the work order or task is assigned to the selected work group (Date and Time Format). The system updates these values in the “To Date” fields in the multiline, if they are left blank. |
Hours / Day |
The total number of hours per day, for which the work order or task is assigned to the work group (Decimal). Ensure this is a positive value. The system updates this value in the “Hours / Days” field in the multiline, if it is left blank. |
Assignment Comments |
Any additional comments pertaining to the employee work assignment (Alphanumeric, 255) Zoom facility available. |
Modify the following fields in the “Employee Details” multiline:
Employee # |
The number that identifies the employee to whom the work order or task is assigned (Alphanumeric,205). Mandatory. Ensure the employee is already defined in the “Create Employee Record” activity of the “Employee Information” business component and is in the “active” status. Help facility available. |
Note: You cannot modify the employee already assigned to the work order.
Enter the following fields:
From Date |
The date from which the work order or task is assigned to the employee (Date Format). Ensure this date is not earlier than the scheduled start of the work order. If you leave this field blank, the system updates the default “From” date value from the “Default Details” group box. |
From Time |
The time from which the work order or task is assigned to the employee (Time Format). If you leave this field blank, the system updates the default “From” time value from the “Default Details” group box. |
To Date |
The date till which the work order or task is assigned to the work group (Date Format). Ensure this date is greater than or equal to the “From Date” and lesser than the scheduled end date of the work order. If you leave this field blank, the system updates the default “To” date value from the “Default Details” group box. |
The system displays the following:
To Time |
The time till which the work order or task is assigned to the work group. |
Enter the following:
Hours / Day |
The total number of hours per day, for which the work order or task is assigned to the employee (Decimal). Ensure this is a positive value. |
Note:If this field is left blank, then the system takes the “Standard Hours” as identified in the “Create Employee Assignment” activity of the “Employee Information” business component. If the employee calendar doesnot exist, then it takes the value as set in the “Work Hours/ Day” field of the “Maintain Standard Calendar” activity of the “Common Masters” business component.
The system displays the following fields:
Assignment Type |
The mode of assignment, that is, whether the task is assigned directly or through a work group. |
Work Group # |
The work group that is assigned to the employee. |
Work Center # |
The work center to which the employee is attached. |
Primary Skill # |
The number that identifies the primary skill of the employee. |
Resource Group |
The resource group to which the employee belongs such as inspector, mechanic or others. |
Productivity Factor |
The number that indicates the efficiency of the employee on a 0 to 1 scale. |
Employee Name |
The name of the employee. |
Assignment Comments |
Any additional comments pertaining to the employee work assignment (Alphanumeric, 255) Zoom facility available. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the employee to view the assignment and work details.
Click the “Assign” pushbutton to assign employees to the work order or task.
The system assigns the employees to the work order, only if there is no leave approved for any time duration or date falling within the date and time range assigned for the work order. The system stores the name of the login user and the current server date as the last modified date of the work order.
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the “View Employee Loading” link to view the assignment details for the selected employee.
Select the “View Work Information” link to view the work information for the selected employee.
Select the “View Skill Assignments” link to view the skill assignments for the selected work order.
Select the “View Skill Requirements” link to view the skill requirements for the selected work order.
Modifying employee assignment details for the work order – An overview
This page allows you to modify the employee assignments details defined in the “Assign Employee to Work Order(s)” activity of the current business component.
You can modify the employee assignment details by selecting the task associated to the work order or the work order itself. You can enter details such as the employee code, the date and time for which the employee is assigned and the number of hours for which the employee is assigned in a day. You can assign the employee to the same task more than once on different assignment dates. You can assign for work orders whose transient status is “Null”.
You cannot modify the assignment details for work order in “Cancelled”, “Completed” or “Closed” status. If the option setting “WO Assignments Prior to Scheduling” is set as “Not Allowed”, you cannot assign for a work order, which is not scheduled, or in the “Fresh” status.

You can modify the employee assignment details of the work order or task.
Select the task, if you wish to assign for a particular task in the work order.
In the multiline,
Enter the employee code you wish to assign to the work order task.
Enter the start date and time, from which you wish to assign the employee.
Enter the end date, till which you wish to assign the employee.
Enter the number of hours per day the employee is assigned to the work order or task.
Click the “Assign” pushbutton, to update the details.
