Releasing component warranty claim
This page allows you to release a component warranty claim. Tell me more.
Select the “Release Component Warranty Claim” link under the “Component Warranty” business component.
The “Release Component Warranty Claim” page appears.
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for a component warranty claim. Data entry in the following fields is optional:
Warranty Claim # |
The code identifying the component warranty claim that you wish to release to the supplier (18). You can enter the warranty claim number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all warranty claim numbers that are similar to the number entered here. |
Revision # |
The revision number of the warranty claim (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the revision number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all warranty claim documents with the revision number entered here. |
Claim Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the warranty claim. The system lists the options "Failure", "Reliability" and "Others". The system retrieves the warranty claim documents that have the claim type selected here. By default, this field is left blank. |
Claim Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the category of the component warranty claim. The system lists all the 'active' claim categories defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity. The system retrieves all warranty claim documents of the category specified. By default, this field is left blank. |
Part # |
The part to which the component belongs (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the part number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all warranty claim documents with the part number entered here. |
Part Serial # |
The serial number of the component against which the warranty claim is raised (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the part serial number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all warranty claim documents with the part serial number entered here. |
Component # |
The number identifying the component against which the warranty claim is raised (Alphanumeric, 90). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all warranty claim documents with the component number entered here. |
Part Description |
The textual description of the part (Alphanumeric, 150). The system retrieves all warranty claim documents with the part description entered here. |
Claim Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the status of component warranty claim. The system lists the following options: |

The code identifying the supplier of the part (Alphanumeric, 45). You can enter the supplier code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all warranty claim documents with the supplier code entered here. |
Supplier Name |
The name of the supplier (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the supplier name in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the component warranty claim documents with the supplier name entered here. Zoom facility available. |

Note: The system retrieves the component warranty claim documents in the "Confirmed", "Pending Release" or "Released" status.

Enter the following field:
Remarks |
Any remark pertaining to the freezing of component warranty claim (Alphanumeric, 255). |
Check the box in the "Select" column of the multiline to mark the component warranty claim to release or revise the claim details.
Note: Only the claim document in "Pending Release" status can be revised.
To release warranty claim
Ensure the following before releasing the claim:
Atleast one row in the multiline is selected and it is in “Not released” status. .
The condition of the component on which the claim is raised must be "Unserviceable" in the "Aircraft" business component.
For a claim document, if the "Repair At" field is set to "Supplier" or "Third party", then the component is not attached to the aircraft or any 'Next Higher Assembly'. An assembly on which the particular item is attached, either directly or through intermediate attaching parts is termed as "Next Higher Assembly".
The "Since New" values of the parameters based on which the warranty is tracked, are not greater than the "Warranty Expiry Values". The warranty expiry values are defined in the "Create Component Warranty" activity. This check is performed with respect to the part failed date.
Click the "Release Claim" pushbutton to release the component warranty claim.
The system performs the following on clicking the "Release Claim" pushbutton:
The status of the selected warranty claim documents is set to "Released".
The parameter values entered are freezed and stored against the warranty claim. Once the parameter values are freezed, you cannot modify them.
To revise warranty claim
Select the "Revise Warranty Claim" link at the bottom of the page to revise the component warranty claim details.
Select the "View Warranty Claim" link at the bottom of the page to view the component warranty claim details.
Select the "Create Repair Order" link at the bottom of the page to create the repair order details.

Releasing component warranty claim - An overview
A component warranty claim is released to the supplier for further processing.
You can search for the claim document that you wish to release to the supplier. You can release a component warranty claim that is in “Confirmed” or "Pending Release" status.
”Confirmed” - the status of the claim when it is confirmed in the "Edit Component Warranty Claim" acitivity.
Pending Release - the status of the 'released' claim when it is revised. You can modify a claim that is already 'released' in the "Revise Component Warranty Claim" acitivity. The status of the claim changes to "Pending Release" after the revision.
Note: In this page, you can release a claim document that is in “Confirmed” or "Pending Release" status. Documents in “Released” status can be selected to revise warranty claim or create repair order.
The system sets the status of the component warranty claim document as "Released". The system stores the login user as the "Released By" and the current server date as "Released Date".
