Specifying the warehouse zone and bin details
This page allows you to transfer stock within the warehouse across its zones and bins. Tell me more
Select the “Edit WH Zone / Bin Details” link at the bottom of the “Edit Intra-warehouse Stock Transfer” page.
The “Edit WH Zone / Bin Details” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
The system displays the following in the “Stock Transfer Information” group box:
Stock Transfer # |
The number identifying the intra-warehouse stock transfer |
Warehouse # |
The number identifying the warehouse where the intra-warehouse stock transfer takes place |
Warehouse Description |
The textual description of the warehouse. |
Enter the following:
Line # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the line number of the part involved in the intra-warehouse stock transfer. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve the part details and storage information.
The system displays the following:
Part # |
The code identifying the part involved in the intra-warehouse stock transfer |
Part Control Type |
The type of part control, which could be serial number-controlled or lot number-controlled |
Transfer Quantity |
The quantity of the stock involved in the intra-warehouse stock transfer. The quantity is retrieved from the “Edit Intra-warehouse Stock Transfer” page. |
Stock Status |
The user-defined stock status of the stock transferred. |
Trading Partner Type |
The type of the trading partner, such as customer or supplier. |
Trading Partner # |
The identification number of the trading number. |
Trading Partner Name |
The name / description of the trading partner. |

Enter the following:
From WH – Zone # |
A unique number identifying the zone in the warehouse, from where the stock is transferred (Alphanumeric, 10). This number should be unique to the warehouse and as defined in the “Create Warehouse Information” activity of the “Storage Administration” business component. |

From WH – Bin # |
A unique number identifying the bin in the warehouse, from where the stock is transferred (Alphanumeric, 10). This number should be unique to the zone. Ensure that the zone is of the “Normal” type. |

To WH – Zone # |
A unique number identifying the zone in the warehouse, where the stock is received after transfer (Alphanumeric, 10). This number should be unique to the warehouse and as defined in the “Create Warehouse Information” activity of the “Storage Administration” business component. Help facility available |
To WH – Bin # |
A unique number identifying the bin in the warehouse, where the stock is received after transfer (Alphanumeric, 10). This number should be unique to the Zone. Ensure that the zone is of the “Normal” type. Help facility available |
Note: Ensure that the “From WH-Zone” and “To WH-Zone” are of “Normal” type, to ransfer the stock from one warehouse bin to another bin.
Quantity |
The quantity of the part involved in the intra-warehouse stock transfer (Decimal). |
Note: Ensure that the requested quantity of the part is available in the specified stock status in the “From WH – Zone #” and the “From WH – Bin #”.
Note: Ensure that at least a row is entered in the multiline.
The total “Quantity” should not exceed the “Transfer Quantity” specified for that line number.
Check the box beside the “Convert Document Status To Fresh”, to change the status of the document from “Draft” to “Fresh”.
Note: In case the “Convert Document Status To Fresh” box is checked, and the required information is not updated, the status of the document will not be updated from “Draft” to “Fresh”.
Click the “Edit WH Zone / Bin Details” pushbutton, to update the warehouse zones and bins details for the stock transfer.
The system updates the status of the stock transfer document from “Draft” to “Fresh”, only if the “Convert Document Status to Fresh” box is checked.
The status of the intra-warehouse stock transfer is “Draft”, when you modify the quantity of any part in zone and bin and if that part is serial controlled/lot controlled, or when a new “Line #” is added for a part, which is serial controlled/lot controlled. For these parts, the Serial / Lot Details must be entered..
This status can be also be attained when the transaction in the ”Draft” status is modified.
The system displays the following in the “Record Statistics” group box:

To proceed, carry out the following
Select the “Edit Serial # / Lot # Details” link at the bottom of the page, to specify the serial # / Lot # details of the parts, which are to be transferred.
Specifying the warehouse zone and bin details – An Overview
This page allows you to transfer stock within the warehouse across its zones and bins. You can specify the locations such as zone/bin from where the part is to be transferred and the locations zone/bin to which the part is to be transferred.
Define zones for intra-warehouse stock transfer

Define zones for intra-warehouse stock transfer
Zones are defined for those warehouses of the “Normal” storage type. These zones must be of the “Normal” or “Free” type, to enable one to trace parts easily. For zones of the “Normal” type, bins must be defined within the zone for storing the parts.
Enter the “From WH – Zone #” field to specify the orgin of the stock in an intra-warehouse stock transfer.
Enter the “To WH – Zone #” field to specify the destination of stock in an intra-warehouse stock transfer.
Define bins for intra-warehouse stock transfer
A bin is an area in the zone that can be specifically allocated for the storage of a particular part. You can define bins for the zones of the “Normal” type for stock transfer.
Enter the “From WH – Bin #” field to specify the origin of stock in an intra-warehouse stock transfer.
Enter the “To WH – Bin #” field to specify the destination of stock in an intra-warehouse stock transfer.
Specify serial and lot number of the part for intra-warehouse stock transfer
You can enter the serial number and lot number details for the part selected, if the part is of a controlled type.
