This page allows you to move stock from one zone and bin to another in the same warehouse.  Tell me more.

The “Create Intra-warehouse Stock Transfer” page appears.

The system displays the following:

Date Format

The format in which the date fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default.

The system displays the following in the “Stock Transfer Information” group box:

Stock Transfer #

A unique number identifying the intra-warehouse stock transfer. This number is generated and displayed by the system, when the “Create Stock Transfer” pushbutton is clicked.

Numbering Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the numbering type of the intra-warehouse stock transfer. Mandatory . The system lists the numbering types that have already been defined in the “Create Numbering Class” activity of the “Document Numbering Type” business component, that are in the “Active” status. The numbering type set for the intra-warehouse stock transfer in the “Document Numbering Class” business component is displayed by default.

Transfer Category

Use the drop-down list box to specify the category of the intra-warehouse stock transfer. . The system lists all the “Active” quick codes of the “Transfer Category” type, as defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity of the current business component.

Status

Use the drop-down list box to select the status, which could be one of the following:

 
  • Draft – The status of the intra-warehouse stock transfer order, when all the mandatory details are not entered. A stock transfer can be created in the “Draft” status.

 
  • Fresh – The status of the intra-warehouse stock transfer order, when all the mandatory details are entered. The stock transfer can be created in the “Fresh” status. It can be also be attained when the transaction in the “Draft” status is modified.

 

The system displays “Draft” by default.

Transfer Date

The date on which the intra-warehouse stock transfer was created  (Date Format). The system displays the system date by default.

User Status

Use the drop-down list box to select the user status of the intra-warehouse stock transfer  . The system lists all the “Active” quick codes of the “User Status” type, as defined in the “Create Quick Codes” of the current business component.

Part Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the part, which could be "Raw Material”, “Component”, “Expendable”, “Tool”, “Consumable” and “Kit”. The system lists the part types, as defined in the “Inventory Option Settings” activity of the “Logistics Common Master” business component.  The system displays all the part types in alphabetical order.

Warehouse #

Use the drop-down list box to select the warehouse of the intra-warehouse stock transfer. Mandatory .The system lists all the “Active” warehouses, as defined in the “Create Warehouse Information” activity of the “Storage Administration” business component. The system displays all the warehouses in alphabetical order.

Warehouse Description

The textual description of the warehouse

Note: For stock transfer involving internal owned parts, you need not specify trading partner information.

Trading Partner Type

 Use the drop-down list box to select the trading partner type for the stock transfer. The system displays "Supplier" and "Customer".

Note: The above field becomes mandatory if you are to specify trading partner #.

Trading Partner #

 The identification number of the trading partner (Alphanumeric, 45).

Help Facility available

Note: Ensure that the trading partner type and trading partner number combination you specify is valid. This infers the following: 1) If the trading partner type is “Customer” the trading partner number must be a customer number. 2) If the trading partner type is “Supplier” the trading partner number must be a supplier number.

Note: Further, the customer number / supplier number that you specify must be valid and active defined in the Customer Master / Supplier Master.

Note: To create stock transfer, the trading partner (customer / supplier) must be mapped to a storage area / warehouse, defined in the Storage Administration business component.

Note: If the part control type of the part associated with customer / supplier is non-controlled, the storage areas/warehouse/zone/bin must be set to “Exclusive” for the trading partner in the Storage Administration business component.

Note: If the part is serial / lot controlled and associated with a specific customer / supplier, the trading partner must not be mapped to a storage area/warehouse/zone/bin in the Storage Administration business component.

The system displays the following on the selection of the trading partner number.

Trading Partner Name

The name / description of the trading partner.

Copy Stock Transfer #

A number identifying the existing stock transfer based on which you are creating the new intra-warehouse stock transfer document  (Alphanumeric, 18).

 

Help facility available

On clicking the pushbutton, the system  copies  the details of the existing stock transfer document in the respective fields in the “Stock Transfer Information” group box and “Part Information” multiline.

Ref Document #

A unique number identifying the reference document based on which the intra-warehouse stock transfer is created (Alphanumeric, 40).

 

The system displays the following “Part Information” multiline:

Line #

The number generated by the system sequentially, for every line containing a part number

Part #

The number identifying the part (Alphanumeric, 40). This number must have been defined in the “Create Parts Main Information” activity of the “Part Administration” business component and must be in the “Active” status. Ensure that the part is mapped to the part type selected.

Note: Ensure that the “Part Type” of the part is mapped to the warehouse as defined in the “Create Warehouse Information” activity of the “Storage Administration” business component.

The system displays the following:

Part Description

The textual description of the part

Stock Status

Use the drop-down list box to select the stock status of the part to be transferred.   Mandatory. The system displays the system defined as well as the user defined stock statuses mapped to transaction type "Stock Transfer”.

Note: Ensure that this stock status is mapped to the part type of the part, as defined in the “Create User Defined Stock Status” activity of the “User-defined Stock Status” business component.

Quantity

The number of units of the part which is to be transferred (Decimal). This is mandatory for each part entered in the “Part #” field.

Note: Fractions can be entered, only if the UOM has been set as “Allow fractions” in the “Create UOM” activity of the “Unit of Measurement Administration” business component.

The system displays the following:

UOM

The unit of measurement of the part received in the warehouse

Remarks

Additional comments pertaining to part details (Alphanumeric, 255).

Note: Ensure that at least one row is entered in the multiline.

The multiline displays the following.

Part Type

The type of the part.

Part Control Type

The type of part control, which could be serial controlled and/or lot controlled or none-controlled.

Employee #

The code of the employee who initiates the intra-warehouse stock transfer (Alphanumeric, 15).Mandatory. The code entered must have been defined in the “Create Employee File” activity of “Employee Information” business component. The system displays the login user ID by default.

Help facility available.

Note: If the help facility is invoked, the system also displays the name of the employee associated, along with the employee code.

Employee Name

The name of the employee who initiates the intra-warehouse stock transfer (Alphanumeric, 150). The system displays the login user name by default.

Work Phone #

The official telephone number of the employee

User Defined Detail – 1

Any other additional details pertaining to the creation of the intra-warehouse stock  transfer (Alphanumeric, 15).

User Defined Detail – 2

Any other additional details pertaining to the creation of the intra-warehouse stock  transfer (Alphanumeric, 15).

Reason for Stock Transfer

The reason for creating the intra-warehouse stock transfer (Alphanumeric, 255).

Remarks

Additional comments pertaining to the intra-warehouse stock transfer (Alphanumeric, 255).

File Name

The name of the file used for document reference that is associated to the stock transfer (Alphanumeric, 50).

The system updates the status of the inter warehouse stock transfer as “Draft” when some details are yet to be entered in the stock transfer order

The system updates the status of the inter warehouse stock transfer as “Fresh” when all the details are entered in the stock transfer order

Note: This action is workflow-enabled. Notification messages can be sent and you can configure further processing of this document in the "Workflow Management" business component.

Create Intra Warehouse Stock Transfer - A summary of the activity

This page enables you to move stock from one zone and bin to another in the same warehouse.

You can specify the employee details such as the code, the name and the telephone number of the employee who initiates the stock transfer in the warehouse.

Note: Intra-Warehouse Stock Transfer can only take place in a warehouse that is of type “Normal”
